Strange rubbing noise, sometimes

Driving my car home today I notice a strange noise. Slightly pulling to the left, then I discovered a disc noise.

It was only when turning left and only sometimes. It even made a noise in a straight line at one point.

It seems it's with the tyre rotation, so faster speed is a faster noise, I'm assuming brakes. I've have managed to look at the front of the discs and all looks well, including the retaining clip. Could it just be the pad is too close and will ware down? I'm hoping so, as I can't get to a dealer easily with work at the minute!

Anything worth checking?

Stone in between stone guard and disc possibly, or the stone guard has been bent slightly meaning it's touching the disc. Easy thing to check for. Jack the car up at the front and have a look on the inboard side of the disc.
