Strange brake noise

Hey there,

I’ve got a strange noise coming from my drivers side front brakes, video here: https://youtube.com/shorts/44oBNUYmAAw?si=yMXbyEaGQFOmbuLJ

The creaking you can hear is when i am sat applying the brake at a stand still.

The noise is most noticeable when the car is moving slowly and I need to brake and almost sounds like a ticking/clicking alongside the creaking noise.

On top of this, the braking feels really Dodgy, particularly at higher speeds. It almost feels like the brake disc is warped when braking as it feels almost as if the car is coming on and off the brakes slightly whilst applying pressure. The discs are relatively new though so I would doubt it’s that.

Any ideas on this? I’m not the most mechanically inclined person, I’ve tried to get my head down there and see if I can see anything obvious - but no luck so far!

Many thanks,

That sounds like a metallic tapping noise.
Something is definitely not right there. I would take the caliper off, take the pads out and check them. It could be the metal backing plate on one of the pads has come loose and is jammed in something, then hitting when pressure from the piston is applied.
The pads should run smoothly, and evenly, in the channels on the caliper.

Quick fit free brake check?

I know they are monkeys, but if you cannot do it yourself, it's an option & it's quick / free.
