Stormwerks Gear knob

Hi

as per the title, I bought a Stormwerks gear knob from their website on 9th October. Received an email confirming my order had been placed. They then emailed me the following day asking for my phone number....I provided it.
On Wednesday this week (18th) I emailed to ask them if there was any update on my order because at that point, and to this day, I've heard nothing from them.
No acknowledgement they received my phone number. Or that my item is being packaged or posted. Nothing.
Thankfully I paid with PayPal so cancellation and refund should be easy enough.

Has anyone used their site before and had any issues?
Is this a normal length of response from them?
It's very poor so far.

Ive used them on a few occasions and my advice is keep the faith as they are usually late with delivery. Vert trustworthy company in my experience and worth the wait for sure.

Thanks guys.....that's a bit reassuring to find they're s**t at communication.

I went for the plated gearknob with the 6speed engraving on it....I have aluminium trim and car is silver grey so should be a decent match.

Have tried briefly to get the existing gear knob off...but it's not shifting at all.

They are terrible with timing and communication. You’ll be super happy with it when it arrives though.

Removal of old one can be tough, especially in a coupe with limited headroom. Passenger seat, second gear, try to get above it and use your legs for power - just mind your face. My last one wouldnt come off and could have sworn it was glued on. Took it to my regular indy for some other work and he managed to do it in about 3 seconds  (reckoned I loosened it for him).

Many, many posts on here complaining of the same (and the resultant injuries  ).
Engage 4th gear, pull hard upwards. You might think too hard, but you won’t lift up the car.
Careful not to hit yourself in the face/balls/stomach when it comes off.

Yep I had same problem with gear knob. I spent ten mins in my old Coupe having a go at it left the car a failure and dripping in sweat.

My dad popped over, 70 years old, 50 years of those 70 a car mechanic with hands like sandpaper and strong as an ox, sat in the passenger seat and one handed pulled it off, took all of about 5 seconds at the first attempt.

I'd never felt so weak and feeble in my life

Sounds like I'll need to have an extra couple of weetabix before attempting to remove the existing knob

Might try it with almost sitting on the console with a leg in each footwell......not sure how headroom will be though.

I found the problem is just not with pulling the knob off. The new one is forever working loose and the grub screw needs tightened on a monthly basis so I leave the Allen key in the glove box

A tiny dab of thread locking fluid on the grub screw will stop it loosening.
^this. Without it you’ll forever be tightening the Storm up every couple of weeks. Also recommend storing the tiny hex spanner you get with it in the car with you in case of emergency tightening needs.

Enuffzed pulled my knob off in public in less than 5 minutes! :o
Ah, glad to see my inuendo coaching is sinking in.

I thought about saying I'd sit on the centre console with the knob between my legs to pull it but opted for the less immature and less funny leg in each footwell phrasing.

Looks nice...I went for the titanium plating too, but only the gearknob for the time being. Handbrake remaining stock.....just now.
