STOLEN! YL03 HCA - Update 5 - Home, for now!

Good news. Very happy for you.

Had a car nicked many years ago when it was relatively easy to rip wires out and hot wire them. Ironically for the next two weeks went within 20yds of it every day on the way to work! It was parked up on a side road. A neighbour reported it and police told me where it was. They couldn't be arsed to do anything about it and I had to go pick it up myself with a mechanic pal.

Didn't take much to put it right and was back to normal 24 hours later. No other damage. The scumback just fancied a lift home and then dumped it I guess.

Some people feel sufficiently violated by the experience that they would rather get rid. Must say it didn't bother me. Just glad to get it back. A lot of hassle to get rid and replace. Maybe when you pick it up and find it is unharmed a good clean up should put you in a better frame of mind and you can concentrate on securing your property as a priority.

You will be back in your nice Z4 whilst the scumbag will hopefully be suffering some form of retribution. I would hope he is done for the breaking in and criminal damage as well as nicking the car. Wouldn't hold my breath on that one, with our current UK sentencing policies.

Best wishes and hope all goes well when you pick it up.

OMG, it must've been an awful experience, but glad to know you've got it back now safe.

Hope the thief gets justice!

Bonus in the car being garaged eh ? The scumbad must have been closet enthusiast
Hope tomorrow brings what you want mate

Over the moon for you SK! Really am. I get really attached to my cars and I'd feel like I'd lost someone if I'd lost my car.

Odds are it should be in good condition ... They wouldn't want to draw attention my driving like a nob if it is going to someone's garage. Plus if the plan was to a strip... They'd want every part of the car in as good a condition as possible.

Look forward to hearing how he is!!!

Glad they caught him buddy. I was thinking this through and I am not sure I'd want mine back if I knew some thieving twat had been ragging it around? Do you have an option to reject it etc? Or are you forced to accept it even tho the engine/clutch/ gearbox could now have a shortened life span?

As others have said, looks like good news.
Police in your area seem to get their act together, they must have targeted all the known
car thieves.

Good news mate, dunno about anyone else but reading this thread has made be physically sick. Thankfully I sleep with the keys right next to my bed, a cricket bat (and helmet, box and pads!) underneath the bed, and am a very light sleeper, so anyone who tried to nick mine would probably be getting their eyeballs sent for 6.

Best case scenario he drove it straight to the garage and parked it up carefully, here's hoping!

PS: Find out where he lives and do him in on the quiet, I won't tell anyone if you don't x

Hope you get it back all sorted !
I would make the bastard who stole it lick it clean ! Then.......
Dress him in a £300 suit (cost of the car apparently) stand him behind the car drop the roof and attach his tie to the passenger head rest Then..... Red line it..... drop the clutch.... and drive around until you had used £300 of petrol - now that's what I would call justice ! I would let him keep the suit I mean come on we wouldn't want to infringe his human rights would we !
:)

Glad to hear Police have found the car. As others have said, hope it is in a good condition (that is if you'd want to keep it I guess). Glad you didn't see walk in on the thief/thieves.

I haven't told the insurance company, i doubt they would discount as it is not an approved device, also as a few have posted before... a tracker even an approved one can make no difference to your premium even if you tell them about it. The cool thing about this device is its not fitted in a standard place and if they do kill the car battery it lasts for quite a few days. It will drop to GSM from GPS if it cannot get a lock on a a satellite (such as in a garage or container) you at least then know its approx location using cell mast triangulation. Im very happy with it, its not messed up once in all the spot testing I have done, never had to reboot it etc. There is even an app for the iPhone that allows you to send codes to it to turn on and off different features to save you remembering the codes... e.g vibration sensor , ring fence mode , listen in to the thieving scum mode etc :-)
