Little update. I was at home last night at 10pm and my friend rand me saying "your onlie on ps3!!". So the person who has robbed my ps3 has turned it on and I had my accout to automatically log in as soon as it turns on and found a valid Internet connection. I rang Sony this morning, they can track the ps3 using the ip address and from that they can obtain a home address. The police are in contact with Sony now so hopefully they will hit the house soon.

keep us posted on the ps3 news, i am hoping these f**ktards get arrested and end up sharing a cell with george micheal for some proper 'prison' punishment. if you know what i mean?

i'm seriously finding it hard to find a Z4 with the same spec as mine, none of them seem to have the flip up monitor on the dash?
 
mine was 04, 3.0litre
44k miles,
108 alloys (split ones) (when i bought it),
memory seat, heated electric etc,
wind deflectors,
6 disc changer,
sat nav, dvd player,
auto lights,
auto wipers,
flip up monitor on dash,
cup holers :)

cant think of much else at the mo, hard to find that spec on auto trader.
 
If you get your stuff back courtesy of the PS3 tracking you may be able to get some cash from a news channel covering it, i am sure this is the type of story te likes of Sky News would be interested in covering. I have seen similar on the news where a guy had an alarm system that paged him when he was on holiday in Majorca, he went online and checked his web cam and saw that the crims were in his house. He called the local police saying that he was on holiday and had been alerted to his house being robbed and that he could see the guys on the web cam, the police went to his house and arrested the guys. It goes to show you what you can do with technology these days, real big brother stuff.

Sorry, i am starting to sound like a geek you wouldn't guess i work in IT.

This tracing via the PS3 situation is marvellous. Glad we have got one too !
 
A car is only ever recorded as Stolen/Recovered on HPi if the insurance company pay out on it. They can't give you the car back and then still record it on the register as that reduces the value of the car and hence they would be liable to compensate you for the difference in value.

If the car is recovered before you get a payout then I reckon you'll struggle to persuade them to pay out rather than just give you it back.

If the thieves are traced through the PS3, that would be fantastic. Lets hope it brings some results.
 
Having all your stuff cleared out like that must be awful! it'll be genius if you can track the bastards responsible through your PS3 account. Good luck to you, mate!
 
I'm very interested to see if these scum bags are found.. If they are, drive your z4 straight over them and s**t in their faces...
 
My best friend who works for BMW as a mechanic done a glasses check on my car with all the spec.
Trade it's worth £9425
Retail it's worth £11825

And his mate who is a sales rep said he's going to find me 4 cars with same spec and mileage to give to me as evidence to the insurance company.

The good thing is they didn't hurt you in the process. as for the car, if it's spotted around Manchester the chances are it's me, not the stolen car shown here as it's pretty much identical to mine.
