Sticky bonnet latch

I covered mine in brake cleaner, then silicone grease a few days later, has worked fine since, this was about 5 months ago? :thumbsup:
 
Every so often I give mine a spray with motorcycle chain lube, thin enough to get in everywhere but not gloopy enough to attract lots or crud.

Only used that as thats what came to hand first in the garage. Good for door locks and hinges too.

Is a bit thicker than PTFE.
 
mine does it all the time, lots of cleaner and then some lube but tbh i think i need to get at it and get on the thick caked on grease first and then some thing to oil it.

+1 :thumbsup: Does not attract dirt like petroleum based lubes. Definitely clean first though, applying PTFE to dirt makes for a sort of sandpaper like surface.
 
Mine's becoming a bit clogged up also.

Am going to clean it and lube it up with this:
