Sterling with Champagne

Well my projects are coming to a close now so i thought a few pics seen as the sun is officially ....... OUT :driving:

First of let me say a MASSIVE thanks to CJ and A11y for helping with the seat project  . I didnt think i would LOVE the seats as much as i do or use the heating elements as much as i do. For £600 i got the Seats, mats, extended leather door cards, steering wheel, and a center console. I considered this a bargain really as they are all mint from a totalled 09 car. The seat swap wasn't as hard as i thought and it was nice to keep the electric bases. I gave the Console to Ace as i didn't want to much cream colour in the car.

Im pretty sure i must be the only Sterling/Champagne combo around, and after reservations about how the two would go I think it looks superb. Adds quite a touch of class to the car and a bit more identity that a grey car can lack. The only thing i dont like is how it looks with the alluminium dash, which will lead me to the final thing i will do to the car - Sterling Grey dash strips.

Also, big thanks to sideshowbob for the steering wheel How-to.

Hope you like :)

That is a NICE combination

Glad you got there in the end. The seat bases are just a fiddly job rather than difficult, or so I found. Good price too for what you got. I paid £200 for a pair of heated standard seats and thought I was doing well until I read this...

Looks amazing and when a lot of it is DIY customisation to a high standard creating your own unique OEM+ car then all the better.

does look good, wish id seen it when i picked up the console, that should be going in tomorrow by the way and thanks.

Excellent work, Dreamer. Car's looking really good, very subtle mods... credit to you for going with that colour scheme, in fairness I, and I suspect many other, probably wouldn't have done. Like m44rrt's a bold choice that paid off

[jammy git] Good find too. [/jammy git]

Very unique

Dreamer, looks great. I saw a couple of Silver Grey/Champagne cars last year. Your door cards look awesome

(must be a bugger to keep clean tho, lol)

any colour gets equally dirty its just that the lighter colour shows more making it easier to keep clean!

Very nice - i actually think thats one of the best combinations you can get.

I nearly bought a sterling grey with white seats back in Sept last yr... which funny enough that car is still for sale:

Really did'nt think I'd like it, but it looks great, might even condsider it myslef in the future

Nice looking Zed and a fantastic DIY job with the interior, slightly off topic i noticed you have the quad clear rear lights just wondered what you have done regarding the rear F/light.Have you just put a red bulb in there or just not bothered with it.Was thinking of doing that mod myself, thet are available on the german ebay site but didn't want to buy them then end up with Mot issues regarding the F/light.

There are a few threads on 4 spot white lights. It's real easy tio either pick up a silver bulb that shines red or a red LED cluster. Bot solutions work and are MOT legal

Cheers for the postive comments guys

Im chuffed to bits with it. I have already had to give them a clean though, i think the blue jeans and heater on are a bad combo for the cream colour :( . It all wipes of though with some leather cleaner and it was a good excuse to gliptone them.

The choice was a bit of a gamble but it works very well. I can definately see why they didnt spec the champagne with the aluminium as it just doesnt go at all. Quite strange but it just looks really dull now and like it shouldnt be there. The car it came from had the (very glam) piano black and i can see why it needs some kind of dark finish to go with it. Anyone got a spare trim set i can buy?? :)
