Steering Problems

Done a fair bit or work on my car this weekend (new inner tie rods and ends, rear upper outer control arm bushes and new gearbox mounts)

Just taken it out for a drive and its terrifying. I know tracking is going to be miles out but I've got a tyre pressure warning light, traction control off light is on and brake warning light on too.

I'm going to see if I've broken any wires or anything obvious but sure I didn't

I've got the BMW diagnostic on my computer...which is best to use?

The steering is shocking. It feels light then heavy and pulls all over at slow speed. Daren't go to any reasonable speed.

Does anyone have any immediate suggestions. I wonder whether it is something to do with a steering angle sensor?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Well got the wheels more central and the warning lights have gone...

Needs tracking without doubt...awful to drive.
Developed an even louder knocking over bumps at the front. When you move the steering wheel there's a fair clunk (stationary). Sounds like the U joint.

Only thing I've not changed on front is too mounts and ball joints.

There doesn't appear to be play in these. M

If it is the UJ would if knock over bumps? It's strange that since fitting tie rods it's now knocking more

Another thing to note is that if a rock the front wheels with a breaker bar, there's a fair bit of play in the forward and reverse position. You can see the wheel moving.

Big if you feel the wishbone rear bush you can feel that moving too. Not sure if they should move so much but it's a fair old bit. They were replaced last year with lemforder items.
