Stealers

I don't understand where these figures are coming from.

The last service (oil, filters, brake fluid, wash & vac, 'Vehicle Health Check' & video, and courtesy car) on my 35iS at Sytner's was £259.40 + VAT. Not cheap, but half the price for the oil service quoted above.

Peter Vardy BMW in Edinburgh prices. £100ish for an oil service, up to £290 for oil, new filters and plugs...

That is a very good price for a main dealer. Weird how they are all varying in price so much.

The variance is interesting.

Maybe a few regional differences due to overheads but the sceptic in me suggests they're all charging what they think they can get away with.......?

Time to name and shame. :x

I spoke to BMW about their online service portal and was told that the dealers charge their own rates, so I said why bother having the site (which indicates the cost of each service item) if the dealers charge something different, surely there should be consistency.... I didn't get an answer

You're probably right. It's a gift.

Restaurant logic. If you're daft enough (or rich enough) to pay £200 for a bottle of wine, you'll probably pay £300.

Not as bad as reading this morning that some idiot paid £7500 for a "virtual dress" for his wife. The dress doesn't exist in physical form so she can't wear it.

"........ it is a digital dress, designed by fashion house The Fabricant, rendered on to an image of Richard Ma's wife, Mary Ren, which can then be used on social media. It's definitely very expensive, but it's also like an investment," Mr Ma says.

Just when you think you've seen it all. Sorry OP, I digress.

Needed a new battery the other day. Called BMW Santa Monica and the parts guy quoted $250. I said, "but others are charging $150". Silence ... then "ok, we can do $200". I felt like I was in a bazaar.
