Starter motor recommendations

Hi all

Starter motor has gone on my 2006 e86. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which brand to replace with?

I see Autodoc have bosch but require sending the old one back which is a bit of a faff. Then getting mixed message of which is the oem brand. Havent got the starter with me to check unfortunately.

Dito on the Denso. Replaced mine last year, and the original was a Denso too

I used an RTX replacement starter motor from Carparts4less half the price of major brands and works fine after 18months.

I tried to get that at the time but never in stock anywhere anymore

Mine was for E85 so cheaper than what you can get for E86 depending what engine you have. Looks like E86 attracts a similar M Tax for parts!

It was the 3.0 si that was difficult to get

I got exactly the same. Paid £119 from AUTODOC.
Works a treat.
Still have the old starter at home. Didn’t need to send it back.
