Starter Motor Bolts

Hi all. Just about to tackle a starter motor replacement on my 3.0. I’ve read all the excellent guides and threads on here and I’m nearly ready to get started!

My only outstanding question is on the bolts. I have ordered 2 new bolts from BMW, however the parts department said they are both the same and have the same part number. When looking at the guides and searching new bolts for sale online, it looks like one is longer than the other. Has my BMW dealer got it wrong? Don’t fancy being half way through the job and finding they are the wrong bolts!

Part number on RealOEM looks to be 07129904681 but it only shows one bolt in the starter diagram!

Car is a 2003 3.0 manual

No need. On the 3.0 whip off the sound generator and you can reach right in. Disconnect the battery though before you start waving spanners around by the live terminal. If you don't you get a huge lump on the back of your head when it hits the bonnet. :wink:
