Sport Suspension photo request

Why not just have a look at your rear springs? If they're sport springs (oem ones) then they'll most likely have 3 blue paint marks on one of the coils.

It's quite obvious, so you'll know pretty quick whether they're correct or not.

My Personal opinion is that your springs have been replaced, most likely with eurocarparts specials which aren't sport spec, hence the massive rear arch gap.

The front springs don't seem to snap as often as the rears, so my guess is a previous owner had this exact problem and didn't realise what springs they were supposed to have.

Lastly, you need to be looking at 'sport springs'. There is no such thing as an Msport E85/86 Z4, only Sport or SE.

Ok I've checked both springs and there are no marks on them whatsoever, just plain old black springs. Is it safe to assume they are not sport springs then?

I was in a similar position. I knew my rear spriungs had been changed in the past because there had been an MOT failure (worth checking the online database). If they have been changed, then you can't infer anything from the lack of markings, because aftermarket sports springs don't usually have the coloured stripes. The Suplex sports springs that I bought (part. no. 06231) certainly have no markings.

That's what I have to replace the ones that are on it, Suplex 6231's. So one way or another I will have Sports springs, I would have just liked to have known what exactly I'm replacing since it's entirely possible that these new springs will have no effect whatsoever if they are already Sports sports springs that are on now.

My alternative idea was to replace the rear springs with h&r 25mm and leave the front as it is, thereby bringing the back down just 10mm (although I've heard it's closer to 7mm) to close up that gap but not rock the balance of the car too much and crucially not lower the front diffuser any more for practical reasons.

And I may go with the M Sport tyre idea suggested further up the thread, although my wheels are 19's, not 18's.
