The other problem with speed bumps is when the wheels drop down the far side, the suspension compresses, causing the undercarriage to bounce off the top of the bump. (Unless you are going incredibly, painfully slow.) This can be avoided by going over the bump at an angle. With only one wheel going over the bump at a time, the car will not drop like it does when both wheels are doing the same thing at the same time. The car also does not rise as much whilst going over, smoothing the entire process. This is useful even in cars with plenty of clearance. Though you will look to be overly self-centred doing this in an econo-box. :wink:
