Then you have a choice of Direct: A515 to Duke of York pub
Or indirect bag of laughs if youre early: A53 towards Flash, Left down to Longnor, Crowdecote and then left on the A515 for a mile to DoY pub

South east - near London! but planning to go to manchester Saturday evening / Sunday so thought I might combine and make a weekend out of it. I believe the weather is said to be decent.

I was thinking of staying somewhere near Lincoln on Fri evening though so would be coming from that direction on Saturday morning

Don't know the roads too well so it'll be a satnav job.

It depends on what the plan is...

If the central meeting point is in Sheffield at 1pm, then the western lot (from Liverpool, Manchester, Saddleworth so far) were going to meet up at a prelim stop in Glossop at 12 and then on to Sheffield via a quick-ish run across the Snake and the lower end of Sheffield.

If we do get a group going from Glossop, meeting with the Sheffield group and then on to the DoY then we need to meet/leave an hour before the Sheffield group.

or

If the central meeting point is the Duke of York pub in the Peak District, then we don't have to leave Glossop until 1pm, as it'll take both groups 30 mins or so to reach the DoY from either end, and the Sheffield lot are meeting/leaving at 1pm (correct me if I'm wrong).

If we do get a group going from Glossop directly to the DoY then we need to meet/leave at the same time as the Sheffield group.

I don't mind which, as long as I have an answer (and some mobile numbers stored) before I head off to Cadwell on Friday.

Spud, could you possibly amend your first post with the Sheffield (1pm?)/Peak district (Duke of York pub) Info please so people don't get confused... Itll take us 45mins-1hour to get to the Peak District (2pm).

Well as you've probably gathered, I'd prefer to meet up later, the 1pm Glossop rather than have to race there for 12 and head over to Sheffield for 1... Happy to work around anything though and meet up at any point if everyone going to Glossop wants to meet at 12....

There really is no need to come to Sheff first, we have a 50-60 mile route round some great roads with plenty of stops for some piccies, drinks, food etc.

Option 2 it is.

The central meeting point is the Duke of York pub on the A515 near Flagg in the Peak District.
We leave/meet at Tesco Glossop at 1pm (or whatever time the Sheffield lot decide they're meeting/leaving), as it'll take both groups 30-45 mins or so to reach the DoY from either end.

We will have a choice of three routes - one taking about an hour, one taking 45 minutes, and one taking about 35 minutes.
This can be decided once we've met up and seen what time we're ready to leave

Those (currently) meeting at Tesco Glossop at 1pm (time TBC) are:

Crikey, what I thought was going to be a chat in a Doncaster carpark has turned into a near 200 mile drive! I still fancy it though. Are many folk meeting in Donny? I'm at Gainsborough, so thinking about making my own way to the pub via Worksop and Chesterfield...

Could someone also please PM me a contact number for someone who'll be at the pub? Doubt I'll get lost but time keeping is a definite weak point at times.

I don't know how to get off the Parkway to get to Morrisons

I'm only used to driving from one end of the Parkway to the other. :lol:

if your coming from the motorway its the first junction off parkway (last if your coming from the city centre). you can see the morrisons from the parkway on your left!

Thanks alot! I'll be coming from Sheff city centre. I'm sure i'll work it out. If i go past it i can always go round the roundabout at the bottom of the Parkway and get on again at the other side anyway, that way i definitley won't be able to miss the first one :lol:

well its the last junction then (think its signposted sheffield business park) - come off and take a right at the roundabout, go under the parkway, straight on at the next roundabout and morrisons is on your left!

Small update: Noticed that the VX220 guys are doing a little run on the same day hopefully. Ive exchanged a few details with a few of the guys to try to synchronise a meet up
