South Yorkshire meet Sat 22nd August - PICS PAGE 10 + 11

I thought Lucy didn't get up to about 1pm on weekends anyway.

How much driving do people want to do, as I normally drive around the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales, but we'll be right over the other side of the M1 (i.e. the flat & featureless side) so it'll be a trek just to get to the good roads I know.

That's just Sundays :) I usually get up between 9 and 11 on a Saturday

After being on plenty of runs with various forums, i can unfortunately but safely say that the Snake Pass is one of THE worst on a weekend... Full of 35mph muppets, mobile speed cameras (once saw 3!) with not many overtaking spots...

I could dot together something in the West of the Peak District where there are some really REALLY good roads! Chuck in a pub at the start and end and there we go!

The only problem is that its no longer a Sheffield meet as were talking 30-35 miles away (A515 - Near Ashbourne)

Whadda people think?

I don't mind what we do. As long as you meet me beforehand so i know where i'm going

I'm pretty easy - i'm at junction 31 of M1 so kind of in the middle of Donny and Sheff.

I'll just let you all organise and i'll just turn up!! :P

Yus, still happening. Though not sure about the debate of location change, but EdButler had some good ideas, I think.

I'm still up for it - and the meet too!

(ps EdButler, am I still okay to commandeer your couch/sofa/beanbag on the Firday night after Cadwell?).

I agree too. What about the Sheffield side people meeting up, then the Manchester side people meeting up, then us all meeting up centrally ie. Bakewell or Buxton at 1, and going for a drive round there?

the only definate thing is the 1 o'clock meeting in doncaster, i think a meeting is sheffield should be arranged first, then travel to donny, i'm happy to meet manchester, then sheffield then donny

a circular trip would suit me, if several stops are arranged then thats more meeting places

I thought the plan was to go for a drive round/near the peaks? If so, no point meeting in Sheff, then heading to Donny. Someone needs to take charge of it

How about having 3 initial meeting points (Doncaster, Sheffield, Glossop) and then picking a point in the Peak District where these 3 groups converge.

It can then be up to the 3 groups to decide what time they need to meet at their point to be at the central point for an agreed time.

We could then drive as much as we want with the penultimate leg coming back to the central point, where the 3 groups could then split and do their own final legs home.

spud started the thread so i would suggest he as the casting vote

come on spud where are you

Sorry, been in York all day in the sunshine. With the Z, of course! :D

Right, Donny lot still meet at 1pm. We'll meet you Sheffield lot in a services somewhere at 1.30pm. Suggestions for the services appreciated.

We'll then meet Glossop people/any other stragglers at the Peak District by 2.15/30 or so? Hopefully those times roughly add up.

OK Glossop meet sounds better for me, then over peaks to wherever... makes the first leg a little less boring as I'm then avoiding the M62...
