Good stuff! Got 9 definites now with 2 possibles.

Would love to do a track day one day.

What are you waiting for then, there's an evening one at Cadwell the night before. It's a BMW Car Club one and they're mostly non-aggressive :P

Good value at £79 too.. surprised everyone on this thread isn't doing both

Tempting but thought I'd own the thing for longer than a month before embarrassing myself with my lack of RWD track skills.

You've got DSC & DTC, so unless you just forget to brake/turn you'll not hit anything, and you can't learn to drive on a track unless you actually get on a track in the first place. At least this will be a short/cheap/friendly introduction into trackdays, rather than one of those run-what-u-brung days.

That's partly my thoughts too. But I'm not in the club either.

It's preferable that you're a club member, but I'm sure he'd let just about anyone on rather than have a half-empty event, as they are trying to make some contribution to the club's finances.

Guys, I was thinking, If we are meeting up around 3, isn't it a bit late? After we have met up, said hello and looked round the car's, then headed down the road for a drive, it is gunna be getting on for 5ish already. Wouldn't it be better to meet about 12 or 1, giving most the afternoon for a drive? Just a suggestion.

I thought Lucy didn't get up to about 1pm on weekends anyway.

How much driving do people want to do, as I normally drive around the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales, but we'll be right over the other side of the M1 (i.e. the flat & featureless side) so it'll be a trek just to get to the good roads I know.

Well if we are off into the Peaks or in Snake Pass direction, maybe it would be better to meet near Sheff at 1pm, seems a few seem to be coming from that way (or further west), then there is less driving to do to get where we want to be. Somewhere like the Morrisons on the Sheff Parkway or something? Again, just a suggestion.

Alright guys,
Would love to join you for this but not sure I will be able to get the time. I hope to be doing a little drive in the Highlands the week before.
I do have the route I took last time I went to that area if you ate interested:

Take Wessendenhead Road South West in to Saddleworth Moor
Left on to the A635
Right on to Harden Moss Road
Then Acres Lane
Right on to Greengate Road
Then Digley Royd Lane
Follow the road around Digley Reservoir on to Fieldhead Lane
Right turn towards Holme on to the A6024  you may want to do this road a few times.
Join the A628 (Right Turn)
Then on to the A6105 (South West)
On to the A57 Snake Road (Snake Pass) West to East.
Don't forget that the Cat and Fiddle road is a bit further South also but to be honest if I were going again I would just stick around Holm Moss

Is there a route planned, if so, maybe we could have various meet up points

Being on the Manchester side, I'd be happy for a meet on this side and then heading over for another meet in Sheffield and then over to Doncaster

I'm feeling 80% i will be able to make it

If anybody is considering going from Manchester side, meeting in Stalybridge is a possibility, Tesco's car park?

I'm heading out from Salford Quays so happy to meet up with anyone from Manc first... head on over... target 1pm in Donny/Sheff is fine, and a trek back over snake pass/woodhead pass is good for me as I'm heading back home then!!

After being on plenty of runs with various forums, i can unfortunately but safely say that the Snake Pass is one of THE worst on a weekend... Full of 35mph muppets, mobile speed cameras (once saw 3!) with not many overtaking spots...

I could dot together something in the West of the Peak District where there are some really REALLY good roads! Chuck in a pub at the start and end and there we go!

The only problem is that its no longer a Sheffield meet as were talking 30-35 miles away (A515 - Near Ashbourne)

Whadda people think?
