I heard about the seller on here and did post a link to this and someone said it would be fine, also checked the size against specs on another thread here so was sure when I ordered it but got an email from the seller saying please make sure you ordered the right thing which set off my ocd so need reassurance

I've got a 2.5 pre face-lift z

Yep that's the right size, very cheap I must say, although never been a fan of mail order batteries.

Cheers for the reassurance

Never ordered a battery online before but mine is on it's way out and saw the seller recommended on here so quick search and saw the price and warranty they offer and thought why not, cheapest car battery I've ever bought and it includes free delivery! That's partly why I asked the question was wondering if it was too good to be true

That's a good price for that size battery,I'm sure it will be fine. I would normally source batteries from local motor spare place, euro car parts or similar, much easier to sort any issues under warranty as can take the battery to them direct,no need for hassle of posting etc.......

No problem at all with online if you can get a good price. I'd prefer a known brand, but if you ensure you get proof to show it has a 4 year warranty then no issue at all.
I always screen shot web pages too as receipts rarely seem to reflect the guarantee.

I would also make sure the battery is fully charged prior to installation.

Just for peace of mind.

Cheers, never thought of doing that will stick it on the charger before I fit it

So the battery arrived, followed the advice and popped it on charge in the warehouse at work this morning to make sure it was full but was showing 13.5v out of the box, came down after I had eaten my lunch and it was fully charged so fitted it, all in took less than 10min including setting the clock and resetting the windows. The new battery was an exact match size wise and everything, level indicator, vent hole etc in exactly the same place even the red plastic cover on the positive terminal just clipped straight back onto the new battery.

Only slight issue I had was the a couple of the screws for the battery holder were pretty tight (almost seized) but then I'm pretty sure that's the original battery I took out so to be expected but they wouldn't budge with the screwdriver.... Non issue though really as the 10ml socket I had ready for the terminals fit them too so with a bit of persuasion they started moving.

Don't know what I was worried about this was much easier than the battery changes I did on my last 2 cars (Jag and Hyundai) although maybe the fact it was in the boot and not under the bonnet made it feel easier
