Sorry for being petty-

I have restored from backup so it is now back to how it was yesterday. I will have another attempt at fixing this problem tomorrow.

Ditch IE7 or 8 and use Chrome or Firefox, have been using Chrome for the past few months and it is just about perfect, great for forums as it has an inbuilt spell checker.

Windows 7 Home Premium and Google Chrome @ Home - Desktop
Windows XP Home and Google Chrome @ Home - Netbook
Windows Vista Business and Google Chrome @ Work...

Most of the time all ok on work and home desktop but on netbook and when you shrink the window <= 1024 resolution in width it halves the menu options.

sounds like a font sizing problem to me... Maybe need to ask what font sizes people are using? For reference all mine are running on 'small' fonts which is the default...

I have resolved the issue on my development server... just testing it in different browsers now and will update this server shortly.

(Begin geekery)

It is down to the resolution of your screen. The header needs to be redone to accommodate different resolutions as when the res is too low it hides the links. :)

edit/ just seen the above comment ;)

LOL, if you were a true geek you would have used <geekery> </geekery> ;)

You are half right... that issue shows itself in certain browsers, but confusingly it is a different issue to the one the others are having.

Anyway, it is now fixed... just giving it a test before deploying it on the live installation :D

Now I have completely lost the links up top ....at work. Really old IE is more than likely the issue....IEver 6   We can't afford to use updated ones. Were only the largest oil company in the world.

LOL, so far I have tested the following and all appear to be working:

Windows / IE8
Windows / Chrome 4.1
Windows / Firefox 3.6
Windows / Opera 10

Looks liek you got it then on Vista and IE8 works on laptop and large remote monitor :)

Nice one... still does weird things when you shrink the window below a certain size, but if you have a sensible size window it looks like it works.

After weeks of having only half the banner at the top of the page, its back  thx sp3ctre, might have a drink to celebrate :D

IE8 by the way.
