Some Days!

In terms of fixing this kind of scratch, I saw someone on YouTube using wet and dry with water and applying lacquer then let it dry, then sand down and polish.

Has anyone tried this, as I have a similar scratch on my 440i GC from what I assumed was a handbag buckle in a car park😝

I have done something similar on my Golf, as the scratch is down to primer or whatever is under the black, it will need black paint and lacquer sand back and polish, you have to be careful not to sand or polish too far. If done well it will be almost indistinguishable but not 100%.

In this case I will just let my bodyshop deal with it, luckily here they really aren't that expensive. Problem is I had my car cermic coated a while back so after it's done that panel will have to get treated again.

You would need to add paint and then sand. I have filled stone chips with paint and sanded down, but I am overly cautious and use 7000 grit paper. You then need to further polish with an abrasive compound. It can be done, and it will always look like you made it worse before it looks better!

Finally got the scratch fixed. Have to say my local paint shop have done it again, another fantastic job, perfect colour match and they removed all the trims light bumper before painting and not simply masked up and all for well under 100€

Whilst the car was there, I took the opportunity to get the wheels done too:

At that price it will be worth me driving down for my repairs..

Bargain compared to what I was quoted for a small job

Yep paint jobs aren't expensive here but finding a good workshop is difficult, luckilly I have found one. And yes as crazy as it seems it would actually be worth the drive down to get this sort of work done, if you can combine it with a driving holiday for a couple weeks. Interestingly although paint job and mechanics labour here isn't expensive car detailers on the other hand are. I have been quoted half the price I paid to have the wheels refinished just to have them ceramic coated, as tedious as it might be I'll probably do that myself.

Parking in some areas is a really hot issue. I rent several city centre properties and parking is by permit for two hours per day (8-10) for which the tenants pay £45 a year.
However at 10 all the local traders move their cars there, traders leave vans etc overnight and weekend even full size 9 metre campers on occasion. One of the roads is blocked daily due to bad parking and the local us getting stuck and at the end of that road is a weird church where all these weirdos go to do star charts and other bo__ox.. They block all available parking three nights a week and most of Sunday.
The residents get really angry, imagine coming home with your weekly shop and having to park two streets away!!
A lot of car damage takes place, from scratching, superglued locks, wipers, on winscreens etc, nails under tyres, schrader valve stems snipped off and even dog s**t poked into the air inlet for the heating (made me laugh that one).
Not saying this is why it happened on this occasion but its always worth taking the other persons point of view, the other thing is of course that people dont do this kind of thing unless they have REALLY had enough...

Doesnt excuse this behaviour though.....

Definitely not in this case. Car was parked in a gated private community with no parking restrictions and not blocking anyone. :( Generally I am very fussy about where I park the Zed and don't leave it in a place where it is likely to get damaged or where it's going to cause a problem for others.

I am sure you are right, they only problem is that 'problem parking' is often an individuals idea on the matter.
Might be a snotty ponce who thinks, 'well i pay for my gated community what right does this outsider have to park here' etc etc

People are jealous, they buy a crappy suv without needing such a big car and then moan about the c*nt driving his 2 seat sports car without thinking, hey, I could have one of those. They are sheep. Baaaaa baaaaaa!

How would he know if his neighbour had not just gone and bought hisself a toy - just mindless vandalism.

Car looks great though and that price would refurb one wheel in the UK (just)

All true, who knows what goes on in the minds of these imbeciles.

I have to say though I am kind of impressed with the Guardia Civil here. I was told by the gated community to be able to access their cameras I needed to file a report with the police and the police would need to request the video footage from them. So I reported it to the Guardia Civil and told them everything what happened including the fact that I have dashcam footage that narrows it down to the likely culprit they took the statement filed a report and the next morning they came around my place to take photos of the damage and then I got a call asking me to send in the video footage to their email address.

Now I am still waiting to hear if they managed to get any further but I doubt I would have got this far with the police in the UK.
