Morning Guys,

My car is now for sale as I've replaced her with a more economcal 3 series diesel.

Been a joy to own and drive for 3.5 years.
139k miles (just about run in)
6 speed manual
Full service history all stamped.

Features include:
Sport upgrade heated memory seats
Integrated Bluetooth
Cruise control
Xenon HID kit
Serviced in May, approx 14K miles until next service.
MOT until Feb 2016, sailed through the last two, no advisories.
Michelin non run flat tyres all round (better ride than standard run fiat tyres)
Connection to iPhone/iPod fitted
2 Keys
New windscreen fitted a month ago due to crack caused by a stone.

Being totally honest, there's a scuff on the front lower spoiler and a small bubble of rust coming on the NS wheel arch, could do with some treatment. Rear springs have been replaced as have the front suspension bushes as advised by my mechanic. I have also had discs and pads fitted all round during my ownership.

The car has been well looked after, pulls and runs smoothly. Will be sad to see her go to a new owner.

£4k ONO. Based in castleford, near leeds.

Looks good value and shouldn't hang around long now that summer's here

The water lines on the road even make it look like you handbraked it into place

Looks nice. Can't go wrong with a black roadster!

I think that you will soon be an ex-Zed owner. Good luck.

With the M Sports Seats already that will be a good by for somebody. New set of 18" rims and it will be a good looking car.

I have a set of 108s for it if that would make it more saleable! Will post a pic! I had them refurbed last year and didn't want the winter to ruin them.Never got round to changing back as the rears could do with some new rubber...that tends to happen with BMWs! I will post a picture with those wheels.

I wouldn't swap the seats, no sorry.

Thanks all for looking!

For me the 108's ae the best wheel for the car.

Get some pictures up with them on and give the option. Could just swing the deal.

has the head gasket been checked mate?

Hasn't been checked but these cars don't have any issues with them as far as I'm aware. Thanks

At those miles I would be concerned and would want to know. If you get it checked. Let me know.

Only the Alpina's have issues with HG I believe. Only thing you could do would be get a compression check though.

At 4k though this is a bargain. The seats are worth £750 ish alone.

the HG isn't going to last forever though is it. depends how the engine has been treated, number of heat cycles etc.

does the alpine hv a different engine? or is it tuned different?

There have been lots of these engines go on and do a lot more miles than this. HG are not a known problem.

Alpina's are a completely different engine. Different block crank might be a similar head but a very different engine.

Amazingly, this is still seemingly for sale.. :?
Yes, the miles may make the odd potential buyer, a little weary..
Bottom line is: This car, could quite easily do a lot more miles, without any issues = cheap motoring...
Come on guys / gals : Snap up, this little cheap gem up and think on how much of a true bargain it's car is?! 8)

OP: Best of luck with your sale and hopefully, she will sell soon, to a forum member, who cherishes and nurtures this little diamond? :)

Cheers

I'm shocked as well, would have thought it would have been snapped up by now.

Yes metal head gasket on semi closed deck aluminium block with aluminium head, iron cilinder liners.
Very reliable, and all potential problems with this engine are relative easy and cheap to fix.

The alpina's use afaik a reworked cast iron m50 block

u can just go on the mileage with regard to HG though, it depends how the car has been treated over its life.

How can you tell though. The same car of the same age with half the mileage could suffer from HG failure. I'm not sure why you are hung up about it so much when the HG isn't an issue on these cars.

It's a very reasnoably priced car, remeber the seats alone will get you £700 easy, making the car £3,300 compared to many out there with non M Sport seats.
