Arriving at the Tamale fest, found parking and then I received some of my own medicine. We all have FRS type radios that all us to communicate while on the road. We took these radios with us to the fest as people stopping for Tamales and other treats, we knew we would get separated. We are standing waiting for the shuttle to take us from the remote lot to the fest and got separated all ready. With a group on the bus pulling away, one of the members is standing behind me in the parking lot with a radio asking for directions to the shuttles. All on the bus is watching this and would not even clue me in. I was officially had. Enough about that young whipper-snapper. LOL
We arrived at the fest a bit latter than planned due to pic being taken. Arrived at 11:00. The crowds we already there. The smell of tamales in the air and the music was a bit loud. My stomach talking to me stating it was time to consume some tasty treats.
Two blocks long and one block wide area with all kinds of treats just waiting for us. What a lunch. Tamales run from $2.50-$3.00. Robyn and I ( as did some others ) bought frozen tamales to take home to those that did not attend.
A rest spot after all the walking and standing sharing our thoughts.
Back to the hotels and check in. Leaving the fest at 3:00.
At 4:30, those of us still able to walk and not wanting a nap, drove to the other side of Palm Springs to the Festival of light parade. Arrived at 5:45.
We left the parade in time to meet up for the event dinner. Arrived at 7:30. As the hotels were very close to the restraint we had a few of these. Yum !!!!!!!!!
All in all , rumors are that everyone had a good time. We did not really plan anything for Sunday as who knew when all would wake and in what shape.
I would like to thank all that came out. It made a great event for me. Meals, driving, events and dinner with some really great people that I feel so lucky to call my friends.
