So you think your wheels are safe?

I had all 4 taken from the car park of Hoole Hall hotel in Chester many years ago , ,between 5pm & 8pm on a Saturday evening
I was away with mrs w on a xmas shopping stopover , the reception rang me in my room & said " just checking you know your car has no wheels on it " :o oh yeah i always go away for the night in a car with no wheels :x
Funny now but it wasn't then & i havn't been back to Chester since

Luckily never had my alloys nicked although I've had beer glasses wedged behind the wheels often enough. As said probably better to rely on insurance.

People will nick anything though, a work colleague had the bonnet and headlights nicked from his Fiesta parked in Liverpool :o

I can now !

Puzzled - I can only guess at a down server . :?

They even show on my post when I said that I can't see them?

Deter, Detect, Delay, Deny, Defend. The 5d's of security!

This thread has got me thinking about purchasing a second set of lockers for my new wheels - ala Mr W

firstly its in germany and to secondly ive never had a set of wheels taken off any car of mine and ive had a number of highly modified ones with desirable wheels on them

if a thief wants your wheels badly, they will have them one way or the other so just make sure your insured

Guy down the next road from my parent's house had all 4 alloys (standard 16's) taken off his fiesta zetec s, back when they were new in 2007. Doesn't have to be desirable. Thiefs will steal anything, especially if someone wants them.

Left it on bricks and done quite a bit of damage to the underside.

I note it's a left hand drive car! Was the event in the UK ?

And, how do you you know that manufacturers locking nuts or indeed any locking nuts wer fitted? It wasn't you was it ? :D

Yes it's a German 1er and would have been fitted with standard factory 18s and locking wheel nuts, which obviously of no use.

:(

I lost my locking wheel nut for the zed a few months back and couldn't get the wheels off. A neighbour's son works at bmw and brought home a whole set of keys (about 20 or so) for me to try. Managed to find my one quickly and soon got the wheel off, so it's easily done, especially if they're in the dealer network.

The fact that Bmw allows the keys out of their control is not good in my opinion .
Your neighbours son is probably an honest fella but it's not a good procedure.
