Now I've got a water butt and it's full I used that water in my old pressure washer last weekend. Just connected a small length of hose to a bucket at the bottom and sat that on and inverted bucket. Worked a treat, only used 2 buckets of water to wash the car and as it's rain water it left less marks.

i defied the ban last week...got fed up filling a watering can with the hosepipe.
car doesn't get much use now to be honest, the work car park has spaces that are about 3ft wide...
there is another car park out back that has wider spaces, but it has the most fearsome selection of speed bumps i've ever seen, it's like an assault course.
good news is i now have 4 miles to work every day, not 25 along suicide alley, with aging passats full of kamikaze lithuanians overtaking 6 cars at a go...
could've had an M after all....!

What 's a hose pipe ban? 
As i'm crawling home across the Tamar bridge, on a bank holiday Friday evening, stuck behind some nice chap and his beloved, in a caravan. I some times wish I was there, in the cab of that crawling roadblock, with them, just so I could explain that there has never been a hose pipe ban in Cornwall as long as I've lived here. Perhams never at all. The reason being it never stops raining.
