(buyer was a previous E86 M owner and member on here and had a Z3M bread van).
Sounds like I just bought it...
(I haven't!)
Congrats on the sale
You’re the first one I thought of under the bread van descriptor

and of course Congratulations on selling the 440i [ref]Pondrew[/ref], SL500 perhaps

Nah!
Unfortunately there is a rather nice looking Imola MR just come up for sale. I could sell the E89 aswell and get that! Must resist, that wasn't the plan! :)

can i please nominate an 80s/90s hot hatch.
If I could find anything for reasonable money, I would be all over it.

For now it's going to be 2 wheels. I fancy having a 'tinker' with a couple of '70s, '80s or '90s bikes. Just got to find some which aren't stupid money for a box of rusty bits! :)

agreed, its Painfully expensive to grab something of that era!

Resistance is futile.

Although a mate of mine might be persuaded to part with his Honda CB400/4, Suzuki GT500 or Kawasaki KH400!

Does anyone know how to start a sweepstake on how many pages this thread will run for?

I looked longingly at an E90 M3 (v8) earlier this week (on Collecting Cars) which I’ve always fancied. But then came to my senses. Why do I want 4 doors?! And a permanent roof?! I was ok after a lay down. Thanks for asking.

Good luck with the search. Looking forward to seeing what you choose…. 🤔
Now I’ve seen a D3 Alpina tourer on the same site. Step away from the temptation JL !! :headbang:

Because it's 18 grand for a sixteen year old car, along with the running costs. I don't have a problem with really old cars, just fairly old ones

I've been looking at old Jags and this little beauty caught my eye

There's a definite irony in it being a FHC (fixed head coupe).

Seriously FFS! :x Is it just me?

If you like BMWs then you should have an Alpina, just once. They are what BMWs would be if they tried a bit harder.

BMW has announced that it has acquired Alpina and the company will be absorbed into BMW in 2025. My guess is that Alpina would not/could not make a better electric BMW than BMW themselves and the Bovensiepen's decided that their time was up. Shame really. Maybe a young B3 or better still a B4 or B5 will be a good buy (goodbye) as the prices I am sure will escalate rapidly.

Indeed and as soon as they did the M3 touring was announced. Took them about a week! :(

The only reason I didn’t have an e34 Alpina back in the day, instead of my e34 M5, was simply because the Alpina (B10 Bi-Turbo) cost twice as much to buy and insure :x

Top-of-the-range BMWs and Alpinas are not that far apart in price anymore.

Didn't know they were ending as an independent company. Perhaps you will get the "Alpina" packages now like you have M-Sport. Just different wheels etc.

Agreed. Alpina spec will become like AMG line to Merc, and S-line to the Audreys only a bit more luxurious (like Brabus used to be).
Shame as the Alpinas were a very different proposition to any other BM.
