I think I'd be replacing that Disa valve as the consequences could be curtains.

Mine had this bolt loose and window rattling around.
That's true - there are two bolts there that let you adjust the window backwards/forwards and change the tilt angle on the same axis as the door. I tried that but I unfortunately need to change the camber (so get the window closer to the window seals) which is only possible when taking of the door cards as far as I know.
I did think about that and was worried but Ross advised that the valve usually gets noticeably noisy before failing and doesn’t lead to catastrophic failure on the N52 engine, only on the M54 (in Z4 that is). So I’ll trust his judgement on this as he has a wealth of experience.Thadeus1991 said:I think I'd be replacing that Disa valve as the consequences could be curtains.
Ahh - I wish I’d known about this fix before and I’d tried it. I already had RBM order the part from Germany, so it’s too late to return that now. Anyway, the seal was £50, so not the end of the world.2k35is said:Try some Gummi Pflege Rubber Care Stick
I forgot to ask about that tbhdhobbs said:What about the parking brake? Did Ross adjust that?
Hahaha - that does really make me feel a little better. But good to hear that your fixing yours up and you right it will all be worth it in the endJamie2.5 said:If it makes you feel any better I bought my project a month ago and it’s needed new front arm, new tyres, new wipers, one of the xenon bulbs is flickering, one of the wheels was buckled, battery died and there’s still loads of odds and sods to sort
Will all be worth it though
