So, how much for a 2003 Z8 Alpina, 8500 miles ?

I dont like the Z8 either... Especially the interior... Speedo in the center... What is it a mini? And no nav.... Rather buy a depreciating house!

You're officially on my 'mental' list Aquazi :) These things are gorgeous!

This uses detailing of an era not of its time. It's the car equivalent of mock Tudor. But as Tim says, it's down to personal opinion.

I think it being in the 007 Brosnan Bond movie probably helped...

To be honest I think that actually DIDN'T help it's image at all... I love it for what it is, not what it was in a film. Just a shame they are all LHD. I agree it is a bit basic - IIRC Vidge's Dad's has a cassette deck in it :o - but some work could lever up to date audio and nav technology into it in a tasteful way. If you had the money to buy one (of the sensibly priced ones) then a few grand on upgrading the in-car tech is neither here nor there.

These are all reasons I love it. The mental interior, stupid pricing and lhd only.

The painted / fully carpeted / leather interior is lovely - in red it just looks so sumptuous in the flesh. Not sure about LHD as I've not driven one on UK roads. It is a bit of a marmite car, I agree - I hate marmite with a passion, but I love the Z8. They make my eyes fizz gently 8)

There are a lot of very happy owners out there. For a while, when the supercar market crashed, they could be picked up for around 30k. A German chum got one as a hire car in Berlin!

Imagine if you'd plonked 30-40k down on one, you don't often double your money on a car...

I actually prefer the silver Z8 than the Alpina version, the 20" wheels look stupid and out of place on those sumptuous curves........and it's almost £100k cheaper

Agree with you there Sars, to justify paying a 100k for the Alpina is stretching the imagination a tad.

If I had the monies I would buy a standard Z8 in a heartbeat, for me its not about ultimate, speed/handling there's too many cars out there for that, the Z8 is just beauty and class wrapped up in one, an ageless car.

Tim.

This car has not even been detailed when the pics were taken.

You can see the swirl marks on the right fender.

Who is this dealer, very unprofessional and very optimisitic.

Especially since the car is not even prepped up.

We have an Aston Martin specialist up here and they're always rebuilding and refurbishing DB5s and 6s - most in 007 colours - they bring an amazing price as well.

And thruth be known the same association sparked my potential interest in my Zed at the independent dealership I bought it from - it reminded me of the Z8 seen in the film.

What do you do with a car at this price - investment so not used? Wonder what the insurance cost is for such an expensive piece of kit?! :o

Am I alone in not particularly liking the z8 :?

+1 It's a very girly looking car if you ask me. I like the interior, it's actually one of the best that BMW have done in my opinion. The exterior is Fiat barchetta territory.

Looks great in Black with red leather..and its probably worth around 150-160k,looking at other Alpina z8's. Very nice indeed :D

To think,a few yrs back these went for under 100k. money makes money,if spent on the right things. if i won the lottery,i would buy it
