Was driving to work this morning when a lorry driver decided he wanted to go right round a roundabout from a left hand lane.

Apparently he didn't see me, clipped my back end, spun me round and up a kerb.

Warning lights everywhere, two flat tyres, two knackered wheels and a wobble/rumble at more than 30mph.

Phooey.

Not long after my "6 months everything is awesome" post :P

Sorry to see that, hope you didn't get knocked up too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if the insurer wants to write that off with all the panel damage and warning lights. Hopefully it'll get sorted quickly for ya

Looks very expensive .You seem quite calm about it,I would be livid.Was it a uk lorry or a foreign lorrr.Around here we seem to get a lot of foreign lorry drivers going around the outer lane of roundabouts. :thumbsdown:
 
Always amazes me the standard of driving from these supposed 'professional drivers' I had one about a foot off my bumper the other day when he could quite easily see that I couldnt go any faster as there was another truck on front of me. I was tempted to get out and ask him why
 
That is absolutely tragic. Thankfully you are uninjured I hope. Sudden high inertia spins can hurt the back/neck and even cause concussion so I do hope you are feeling ok mate.

All my hopes.

I called the police as soon as I got out of the car, just because of how dangerous a place is was to park your car. They arrived within 5 minutes, two X5s and a fast response ambulance, so great job from those guys!

I'm fine, no pain anywhere yet. Was a fairly low speed accident, 20-25 tops I should think. Thankfully the bodywork damaged seems to just be a door sill, rear quarter and rear bumper. The doors are fine and front seems completely unscathed.

Driver did stop and says he just didn't see me. When asked why he was going right around the roundabout from where he was I got no response. Sadly he was a foreign driver, didn't seem to speak great English. Truck is British plates and company though.

Car is currently in the BMW body shop being assessed. When I spoke to the other guy's insurance they said they're yet to be notified by their client. So... we'll see what happens. Police are on my side though, so that's good.

Sigh.
 
Boy, I'd be apoplectic!
Truly sorry to see a 'lover of the breed' get slammed - should only happen to the hairdressers who want a Merc anyhow.
