My son is just back from the three valleys in France and has been crowing how good the skiing was. So looking forward to it but working tomorrow so Sunday it is. :D

My 12 yo son is the better skier while I am the beginner. His mother learned to ski in Switzerland and they learn to ski on Primary school here but I do love it.

How was it compared to other places you have skied?

In my youth I did a 3 week Outward Bound course in January at Loch Eil, it snowed heavily the whole time I was their. Stunning part of the world, and quite spectacular in such snowy conditions. Not that much fun camping out in it though and not nice making us canoe in the loch, proving under controlled conditions that we could capsize safely.

I think it was 1983 or 84. Was my first visit to Scotland and I promised myself to come back and see it in the summer. Have been back many times by bike to the highlands and a few times by car, but only as far as Glasgow to see my team play.

Trip planned to Fort Augustus in May.

I've done a lot of skiing in Europe, but my preference now is USA/Canada due to a few things:
1) a single room supplement gives you a huge double room, not a broom cupboard;
2) no huge queues at the lifts (e.g. I can ski down and ski straight into the singles line, and then straight onto the next chairlift)
3) quieter runs
4) almost guaranteed, natural snow
5) plenty of other things to do when I'm knackered from skiing

sNice conditions! Which resort is that?
I was based in Banff, so it's either Lake Louise, Sunshine Village or Norquay.

I remember being out there when I was based in Batus (Medicine Hat) nice times :D

Good fun skiing today but sore legs and the rugby on so an early finish :)

Needs another days snow in some places but was relatively empty :thumbsup:
