I don't have comfort access on my e89 that I can see despite having a load of options included.

Does anyone have any knowledge of http://www.cabrio-module.de

Seems to offer the same functionality as SmartTop but is a much lower cost.

From memory i think the German module involves a bit of diy wiring that people have had issues with :?
I’m also not sure it offers the same comfort access feature, one touch windows or mirror folding as the smarttop?

Cheers Rob,

I am not really worried about the windows but the mirrors I would likeness I don't want to mess with complicated wiring

Hi Tintoverano,

Not certain I want to be doing that, mechanically I can do the basics but messing round with the CTM is not something I want to do.

Is it possible to just code the close on the key fob and/or when moving via Carly?

Cheers

Id just bite the bullet on the smart top, you'll get all the functionality you need and if you sell the car you can quickly remove it and get a good chunk of your investment back

It’s possible to code roof closing from the key but you must have comfort access access optioned on your car for it to be possible, Carly can’t do it either-it’s more involved than that. :(

If you only want to code folding door mirrors it can be done using Carista. I did it with Carista but had to do it via their Beta software.

Hi Silverstar,

I also want the roof up off the key as well as when on the move.

A shame there is no proper competitor to Smarttop hence the over the top price.

that is why I ws interested in the German one as its about 40% cheaper than the SmartTop version.
I know but it doesn't stand up too well with the Smarttop product being plug and play and play and other functionality. I'd buy Smarrtop but at over 300 quid I don't think it justifies the price and I love gadgets. :)

You’d get a fair proportion of that money back when you eventually sell the car on, life’s to short to worry about £100 :driving:

Mine has comfort access but have to hold the roof closing switch until the roof is fully down which is a pain. I can open it via the key but again only by holding the fob button down until fully open. Are you saying the system can be coded to allow for just a single press of switch or fob?

I love my gadgets but will have to think about £300 right now - job situation is not 100% good at the moment
