Small aerial

Right, tried the 3 aerials/antennas out today during lunch at Oulton Park.

3" one is fine for everything except MW/AM, for which it is poor

7" one is fine for everything except MW/AM, for which it is only okay

Standard one is fine for everything (MW/AM is not brilliant anyway)

Further to the stubby saga, received my 3" and 5" from Mangowalk in 7days of ordering, arrived in jiffy bag, and yes they are made in china, but boy don't they look good on the zed !!!!!

Sorry where can I get the 3" one from directly? How long will it take to arrive, £11 is fine with me.

otherwise put me on the list. I don't care so much about the price, just would like it ASAP.

Thanks

Dont think the group buy is going ahead, i ordered mine yesterday direct from the ebay seller near the start of this thread.

Which makes sense since the aeriel that sticks out is only for MW/AM anyway :)

Really dumb question - I assume it does FM?! Otherwise could I not just get rid of the aerial all-together.

The FM aerial is integrated into the boot area, so if you lose the antenna that stick out you only lose AM/MW... indeed you could probably keep your long OE aerial and just have it inside the boot (roof of the nearside side compartment area) and retain *some* reception ability.

A stubby is nice, but ultimately for 95% of users probably more than they need. I'd just remove altogether if I knew a good bodyshop that could remove/blend the hole nicely.

I have 2, 3" stubbys being shipped today from Mangowalk, 1 will be available for about a tenner inc P&P depending on whether I get stuffed by customs again, should be under the tax excempt limit though.

If you've got one to sell, I'm interested

Yeah no worries, like I say it all depends on whether I get turned over by Custom's, but other members have told me they just came in a small jiffy bag straight to the door, so that's what I'm hoping.

On a side note purely out of curiosity and giving my age away is the Agincourt still going or closed down years ago?

PM me and we'll sort something out when they arrive.

Oh yes, The Ag will never die! Only been there once, not really my scene, I prefer JWS :D

Give me a shout when you know that you haven't been had over and I'll send you my details...

Anyone got a close up pic of their Mangowalk installed...?

Also, does anyone have a pic of the Honda S2000 stubbie installed as I'm not sure I've been sent the correct one.... :?

Mangowalk aerial....

and if anyone has any suggestions to get that plastic bit blacker and shinier it'd be welcomed....

mine dont look like that :?

mine is less glossy...

I'm expecting mine to be more of the matt rubber look than a shiny plastic. Hope I'm not disappointed when it turns up

Looks like you ordered the alloy one...
The rubber ones match the base much better.

"Brand New 3" Black Short & Stubby Rubber Antenna Mast" is what I went for so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it looks like
mmm-five's.
