Small aerial

Well I'll give people some time to reply, maybe pickup a few stragglers since the price is more known.
Need to work out payment next... anyone done this before for a group buy?

What normally happens is you pay for them all and then try to get the money out of us for the next 12 months :P

Paypal is easy enough, and there shouldn't be any big charges as we'd all be doing small payments to you anyway.

Order once you've got at least 50% of the payments in and then only post to those who have paid - if you get any 'slow' payers, you can always sell them on ebay.

What the hell, I'll have 2 - a 3" and a 7". I can always sell one.

Happy to go with the flow with regards to payment and shipping, but asap sounds good! :D

Thanks for arranging Herminator

You guys are obsessed with your stubbies, aren't ya?

3" + 7" = 10" - that should be sufficient :P

Although last time I was poking the girlfriend with my 14" blutwurst, she told me to wash it and put it back in the fridge because what I was doing with it was unhygenic

Amazing how those of us who couldn't be bother to get one ourselves are suddenly really impatient :P

Sooner the better for me too . :w00t:

Might be worth people putting their location next to their name too, Im too lazy to check all 25 :P

£10 sounds good to me, make sure you don't get stung by paypal fees though mate, not that I know what paypal take.

I know  , I hope people realise they could buy 2 directly from the ebay add and pay $27 which would be less than £19.... but it would take 3-4 weeks to arrive. :tumbleweed:

I looked at paypal fees earlier. There's a 3.4% plus 20p charge for transfers between people, so 54p for everyone to send me a tenner, but paying Mangowalk is free of fees (for the buyer)
At current exchange rates, it would be about £160 for 20 aerials shipped priority, add duty/vat with a guestimate of 20%, it's about £9.60 per aerial. So £10.14 before I even post them out... Probably another £1 each to pack and post first class.

I don't mind doing it at all and the plan is to still go ahead, it's just the sums aren't adding up in our favour.
Anyone going to the US in the next couple of weeks? :poke:

You are indeed right, it seems pointless you organising this all and everyone paying more than it would cost to buy one ourselves, with the exception of time. Can you not work Mangowalk a bit harder for a decent discount on the bulk buy? Even 10%. Perhaps one of our US forum members would be so kind to act as a middle-man on shipping?

Isn't there a retailer somewhere in the UK that'll do us a bulk discount and we can pay them direct? Seen the same thing done for laptops on a forum once!

There are similar ones available in the UK, but they seem to sell for £15-£30!

Heh, gotta love buying a car for around 20k, and not wanting to spend £15-30 on an aerial!

By the way, I agree - Don't pay over the odds for anything you don't have to... Unless you fall in love with the right car of course!

Nice work Herminator, but i will be ordering direct . : : :driving:

I'm happy to order direct with Nerra, since he would like a new stubby aerial aswell, so another few orders off the list for direct purchases if that is the way it goes. The price is cheaper (not really an issue anyway), and the total time from ordering to delivery will probably be about the same, since Herminator will have a BIG job taking delivery of these at an appropriate time and then re-sending them all out again (not a job I'd look forward too!)

Cheers

Dave

Well I've not had a lot of luck receiving items from the US this year, so don't know if I've been put on some sort of blacklist. Can't see why as Fedex, UPS, and lots of other companies sent me invoices for £70 all the time last year - even on £30 items FFS - and I paid them!
