I also was demonstrated in more than 1 place that the Canon grip is easier one handed.
Let the real experts correct or confirm

i found that i got the best pans knees slightly bent so i could bounce type of thing felt more of a smoother pan not so rigid plus i could pan much quicker the pic above was shot at 1/50 so as to get a nice blurred background and give the feel of speed.taylor225 said:well ive just put my order in for a canon 40d and new lens..

Make sure you use your legs and hips not just your upper body when panning and make sure your feet are not to close together nearly fell over a few timesi found that i got the best pans knees slightly bent so i could bounce type of thing felt more of a smoother pan not so rigid plus i could pan much quicker the pic above was shot at 1/50 so as to get a nice blurred background and give the feel of speed.
Will be trying panning for the second time with this camera at Brands in a few weeks http://ticket.motorsportvision.co.uk/calendar/2010/may/100531-masters-bh-.aspx will be trying out my 55-250mm lens think it will harder to get the cars in frame with a zoom.
