Slippery Knob

Raify do you often hold knobs to your chest? :poke: you sound like a pro! :D

 Just passing on the tips I got from Voodoo! He's got a weighted knob that he managed to pull off successfully.

Mine twists off too, usually if I throw it into 3rd.

I was planning on pouring some superglue down the zhp and sticking it on.

Would anyone advise against this??

Well, as long as you like your current knob because with superglue it ain't going to want to be tugged off again in future

Sorry, this talk of knobs and superglue has got me thinking about a certain scene in the 2nd American Pie film...

  cant beat inuendo

though,on the topic of knobs/is the zhp one the best,or are there any good alternatives?

Do all zhp's work loose easily?,if so i mt stick with my original knob, dont want it coming off in my hand while fleeing down a country road :P

The ZHP looks nice, but I don't honestly think it's the bees knees that many on this forum have made it out to be. Fine if you want to spend 40 odd quid for the m version from the dealers, but not worth paying the extra for the plain 6 speed version from LeatherZ where I got mine from.

guys whats the best way to get the existing knob off, iv given it a good pull but it wont budge!

definitely a two person job. My wife helped me pull mine off. I don't think she would want to do another.. We made a bit of a mess with mine.

(I'm so glad I clicked this thread!)

I got mine off yesterday - left it in neutral, sat in the passengers side, two hand one quick tug and its off :P

I can confirm the ZHP is firmly in place- no slippage - but imo i dont think it looks as nice as my original chrome one.

I agree aquazi (esp as I have grey interior) but it feels so much better it's staying.

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I'm at work and about to go down to the car and attempt to pull my knob off.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Wow! That was easier than I thought. It shot off with no problems, just put my back into it. I didn't even need the help I was offered by one of the lads in the office!

The new knob certainly looks better, but I haven't noticed a huge amount of difference in use. Although I only went down the road and back with it....

I hope the girlfriend doesn't notice my new knob, she wanted to keep the old one.....

Anyway, question is, does anyone else struggle with their ZHP Gear Knob staying on? Mine comes off pretty easily. Any tips for keeping it fixed?
Did mine yesterday. The new one went one and clicked home with just some extra downward force, no need to bang it.
The old one came off reasonably easy too, without smacking myself in the face, or my head on the roof.

New one feels a lot better than the original, imho.
I didn't like the sharp edge at the top on the old one.
