slashed roof

Chris, sorry to hear of yet another vandal attack. Some insurance policies have vandal cover that's like windscreen cover, you pay an excess but it won't hit your NCB. Has to be worth checking

I had a 3rd party "monsoon hood" on my 911..

It was great,i wouldnt think twice about having one fitted by them, price was brilliant too..

Hi,

I was the guy that got his repaired in Glasgow! my slash was only a few inches long and the repair looked great for around a year or so but the fibre's started to come apart. The repair was still watertight underneath but just didn't look as good.

I ended up buying a 2nd hand roof (material only) from a forum member and I got it fitted by the same guy how originaly did the repair :) He charged £220 to replace the roof material and it took him a full day.

cheers

Mark

I've just looked at the roof on ebay. If you can get that for around £500 then you could fit it yourself as its the whole roof. Its probably your cheapest/best option :)

Good Luck

Mark

Hello

Sorry to hear that... Especially because someone did it to my Z4, 2 days ago :( Just before vacation...
Now I'm repairing it with needle and thread...

Here are the pictures:/

In BMW Garage, they told me, that BMW parts supplier sells only whole Soft Top (with mechanism, motor etc.)...

I am always telling people that ask for how vandalism sensitive a soft top is, that things like this are highly unlikley to happen. Guess that is proven wrong now ... :x

It's called ENVY.

Nobody even stole anything from my car :/ He just damaged it, because I had something that he will never be able to afford (because he's a fool, with IQ of a monkey).

The most funny thing - it happened in Switzerland.

I was going to ask - where were the cars that were damaged? I am concerned about vandal damage to my car and if we can learn anything from where they were parked or left? Or is it just a matter of bad luck - being in the wrong place at the wrong time? There are some worrying individuals about and you never know when they might cross your path - it might be unlikely but what an impact if it does happen - especially to a great looking car - mortifying! :x

Since 4 months, I have always parked my Z4 on public road, next to my apartment. Without any problems till now. I think, that it could be "pleasent" neighbour. To be honest - I'm 25 years old. Not many people can afford to buy Z4 at this age - so I think it might been the cause of this vandalism...

The dealer just replaced the fabric on my previous Z though as they put it through their car wash, so it is nonsense that they want to replace the entire structure.

Really? It's a great information, because my insurance company told, that they won't paid for whole roof. BMW Dealer says that they can only order a whole roof.

I'll never understand why some people gain satisfaction from doing this sort of thing.

I hope you both manage to get things sorted without too much grief / expense.
