SkyeFall Run 2014 - 30th & 31st August - Updated 29/07/14

If most people are B&Bing then it may be better to switch to Dunvegan to stay over as there may be more options, though I've not researched that yet. If everyone is doing that then me & WB probably will too, which would save on boot space, especially as I have less of that resource this year

We'll be leaving about 5am on the Friday and driving up to my Dad's near Inverkeithing, but unfortunately can't offer accommodation :( ...Then leaving to come back down at a more respectable hour on the Monday - probably about 8am.
Got me thinking now...

...if we can get the time off, it's possible that we could drive up to Wakefield on the Thursday evening and stay with family to break the journey, then do the Yorkshire to Sterling bit on the Friday... what route do you take up to The Norf...

I'll have to have a chat with Cindy about it...

Our route is v simple - M20, M25, M1, M6 (end-to-end baby, yeah :D ), M74, M8, M90.

So, from Wakefield to join the M6 we might be able to get a drive through the Yorkshire Dales as a bonus :driving:

If anyone can offer advice on a route through the Dales? http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=68147

Unfortunately can not make that as I am in Spain then.

Would have been good to do the usual Scotland run, many good memories.

Remember this one Dario?

Spoken to Cinders... We may well be up for this

Got to check about time off and being able to stay in Yorkshire...

Most groovy
As long as you don't try to pretend you're still a local and drop into a strong Scots accent the moment you cross the border

Put me down as a 'probably', just need to see if I can get the following days off work and pop home for a bit. Uig-Tarbert ferry is 2pm on Sunday so I'll turn back at Kyle or somewhere. I'm fine with camping and I'm sure my parents have stayed at the Uig site in their campervan, will get their review.

Ace, interest is building

Got another southerner interested, he should make himself known soon... About time you Englanders learned what proper roads are :D

Happens involuntarily I'm afraid

Ok, first post updated, potentially 7 cars so far, plus one more, so getting towards a good number

Paul / Nick - I'd suggest you guys book a room each in the B&B, they have not gotten back to me about holding the rooms. You both good with contacting them direct yourselves ?

Wonder if Ruth can get any time off - or maybe a single day hoon with mr Gunn (as he seems to be driving through Guiseley anyway)....... Hmmm

What about Dunvegan?, as you said, if lots of people want the B&B, it would be better to be together

After 24 hours rolling the idea round this is proving logistically & emotionally difficult  junior(22 yrs petrolhead) wilks is mad keen but the reason i'm booked off that week is i need to be in Normandy the Monday to get some things sorted & appointments with electrician & roofer have already been made .
I was under the crazy notion i could head home Sunday Pm & be on the channel ferry the day after but i think i'm stretching my capabilities behind the wheel a little
The draw of the venue , the cars & of course the folks was the appeal & whilst i haven't put the idea totally to bed i can't count myself in .

Sorry guys if this one doesn't happen for me but as a consolation i have another crazy notion to organise a similar Normandy event that would most likely be easier for many to access & have no less great roads & scenery ?
Plus Mmonkey said he would happily chop logs for me if he gets the chance :P

Sorry Bing was at work, I'm the other Southerner. Will let you know for definite when I've asked work for a couple of days off. I would be camping :D

Can't you do it a week earlier :poke:

Unfortunately not - that would involve me getting off a 12hr flight on the 21st at 6am, then getting up for a 5am departure the next day

It's also a bank holiday weekend the week before, not ace at all. Change your plans :poke:
