SKYE MEET/RUN, 22nd/23RD AUGUST 2015.

Hi Folks...for those camping (Ian/sk93 and andrewp), did you guys give the campsite a phone, for any more info or are you happy with what i was told??

Looking forward to the meet, and catching up with everyone...and it would be nice if this poor weather improves and we get a dry/sunny weekend come the 22nd/23rd; here's hoping :D :driving:

Yeah, that's cool, thanks for all the work in the background Craig :). I'll be heading over to Lewis to see family afterwards (bit rude to go 90% of the way there without doing so!), so will detach at some point on Sunday for the Uig or Ullapool ferry.

Looks like a great turnout for this trip guys !

Sorry we can't make it but might manage along for a couple of hours on the Saturday if you don't mind us tagging along at the back, in the wrong car, for a bit ? Would be good to catch up with some folks. 8)

Cool Andrew, and was more than happy to organise this,as know you are busy...no reason why we can't work together on other runs, think it would be nice to do Braemar and Skyefall runs again at some point in the not too distant future,so was thinking about one or both of these fir next Soring if not sooner? Speak soon, cheers

Routes are pretty much sorted for this now, not going to put too much info on here, but will be going up Loch Lomond side, stopping at Luss to pickup..??......on the way there, then onto our Brunch/Early lunch stop at between 11am and 12noon,on Saturday, then Stopping at a wee(infamous)castle for toilet break/photo op, then onto Sligachan etc.at aprox 4p.m
UDATE,WED.5THAUGUST
Saturday night we will have dinner in The SLIGACHAN HOTEL Restaurant(NOW BOOKED).....they have asked us to pre-book our meals....google their Main Restaurant(not the pub next door)...It has a LIMITED menu unfortunately, but hopefully everyone can find something they like on it.Should have a pdf link from them soon,re menu...but look at their website and then let the Hotel Know, via e-mail;just giving your name(s) and the fact you are with the reservation for BOLTON,Thanks
We can then have a couple of drinks in the pub next-door :)

Sunday will be a fairly relaxed run in the Morning round a few places in Skye, to see some of the Island, then Lunch in UIG or PORTREE...depending on where we want to eat on the Saturday night......then back towards Fort William after lunch for a wee toilet stop and heading back down via the same route we came up on*, and then back tour our START/FINISH POINT.

*UNLESS i can work in a slightly different route(tbc), i am intending on using the same route both ways to/from Skye-Fort William, as the alternatives would add too much onto our Day/Journey if we went back on the Ferry at Malaig/Armadale, or if we went to/back via Applecross was another possibility, as was coming back on the A9, but all added too much time, and the a9 isnt a great road tbh, imho, and we will pass through some lovely roads and scenery along the way anyway.

Hope this suits you all okay, and look forward to seeing u all soon :D :driving:

Although I was going to double back to Spean Bridge I have now booked into the Sligachan Hotel so a few pints and a nice meal there sounds good to me as well.

Looking forward to meeting you all. :D

Cool, will book a table there for us all......

Alfascozzesi, where are u joining us, at mmetpoint or en-route somewhere??

Was going to drive down to the Green Welly as you had mentioned stopping there on an earlier post and then drive back with you all. Not a bad bit of road. Can also scope for the sometimes there "van"

Let me know if ok or if you are preferring an alternative stop or pick up point. :)

Yeah, that's fine, plan is to leave meet point (Linwood) at 9.30, getting us to Tyndrum/ Green welly about 11a.m.
Get u there :driving:
