Yep..
Some do it and some don't... It's the plates in the diff not slipping correctly and partially locking/ unlocking..
It shouldn't happen of course but seems to carry no long term damage..
The friction modifier sometimes works.. And its a OEM recommended procedure

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps i only noticed it now and not on the test drive as the garage put a different type of oil in the diff making it noisy. Will dig out the receipt for the service see if it says what they put in.

I started a thread a while back when I was worried about diff whine on the overrun. Comforting to know that at least 4 other forum members have the same noise (edit) with their LSDs.
My diff whine hasn't change since buying the car - I've done 3,500 miles since then, and also had the diff fluid and seals changed by main dealer. No issue found with the diff. All ok.
Interestingly, earlier in this thread mention of CSLs and aero skirts?

Ok so having done a few miles i am pleased to say i am very happy with the car overall. Compared to some of my past motors lastly being the track car which i was dailying it is such a pleasant place to be. Heated seats are awesome for this time of year as is a climate system that works on all settings, not just hot and full or cold and full, lol.
There are a few niggles which i am somewhat disappointed with. The flap for the DVD unit has somehow bust at the hinge and a replacement one is £50-£80. No idea how it happened but im blaming the mrs as she touched it last. The computer decided to freeze on my journey to work this morning which looks to be a rather common issue which may or may not fix itself, oh and when i flicked the engine off and back on to try reset it i had a bulb out failure which cured itself by switching lights off and back on again (possible ballast/ignitor/bulb problem waiting to happen). The diff is slightly clunky when cold but fine once warmed up. I would summarise that the interior build is not as brilliant as you would expect, though i was expecting this as i had one as a courtesy car when they first came out and wasn't overly impressed then either. Overall though its not too noisy. There is a small rattle from somewhere behind the computer screen, but only noticeable at slow speed bumpy road situation and all in all its a pleasant place to be.
I haven't really pushed the car yet as not had much chance to get it out on the open road or turn off the DSC. Going to wait for a clear dry day before going nuts. Did have a little play down some well known lanes by me though and was happy that the DSC wasn't overly obtrusive, so definitely be interested to see the difference with it off and the sport button on :evil:
Im taking a bit of getting used to the fly by wire system again, and the pedals are further apart than on my E36 so the heel and toe isn't as easy, plus im either pushing too much or too little on the blip, but thats something im sure i can learn plus a throttle adaption re-set might be a good idea.
The cabin is rather small, but thats not a negative and you have to expect as such from a 2 seater. Its certainly a luxurious way of getting around compared to previous experiences and it seems to get to 80+ leptons very effortlessly and before you even realise what speed your doing, lol, need to keep a close eye on that one!
People tend to complain about a stiff ride, but its more than comfortable for my use. Though its taking me a while to find a comfortable driving position, my legs and arms are not in proportion at all :lol:
I should also probably add that compared to my E46 330 the 6 speed box in this is an absolute dream to use. I was thinking i might need to go down the storm route for a bit of aided shifting, but it goes between the gears with easy and without any issue. Its a little jerky pulling away when not fully up to temp, but i expect that's more down to me rather than a problem with the car.
Will continue to report back as i get used to it some more and the fear factor of breaking the new toy slowly goes and i have more confidence in my comfort zone for pushing the car a bit more.
Edit : Will also get some pics up for you lot next weekend once i have had a chance to give it a good clean.

Have you spoken to vernon and the wheel specialist in fareham. They strip, repair and powder coat wheels in any colour. I've had 6 sets done now and they all look spanking, are resistant to sticky brake dust and I use dragons breath on them twice a month. They still look like new!

Thanks for the advice however Fareham is a little bit far for me to have a set of wheels refurbed
I'm sure there are equally as good places locally, plus my current wheels haven't a mark on them and its the wrong side of winter really for anyone to consider a wheel refurb.

Few pics from a quick clean over the weekend. Didn't go nuts as waiting on my new products to arrive so this was just a clean and quick detail. Hopefully this week the good cleaning products will rock up and i can give it a good going over next weekend.

Reception is noticeably worse though, at least for Radio 2 anyway. Might look for one just a little bit longer.

Shouldn't make a difference, FM aerial is in the rear bumper I believe. The stubby only takes over if the primary FM aerial has poor reception or has a problem/not connected properly.
I listened to AM perfectly the other day with the stubby, FM works fine too so I suspect a problem related to the above If your reception is poor.

I know there is a certain stretch of road where all my cars have had issues with reception. The Z has the same problem area, but the signal doesn't completely drop off just gets louder and quieter. I guess as it switches between the 2 aerials? However with the longer aerial in there was never a problem...
Anywho its only for a 2/3 miles part of my journey so won't let it bother me too much.

Haha yep, heated seat on, climate up, window down!
Have to say aside from the interior plastics, there's nothing I don't like about it.
