Silverstone Classic - ZedFest - 25-27 July 2014

Count me in for Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we won't all be under water by then.

I live just around the corner from the Holiday Inn. First come first served if anyone wants to use my drive/hose on the Friday/Saturday night for a quick wash of their Zed if they've come a long way. I may even stretch to a free cuppa or bottle of beer!

Roll on summer! :driving:

Well it looks like I'm getting a bit more roped in on this one lol so I'll be needing a hotel room cheap somewhere close. Paid from my own pocket to organise this thing as a volunteer... The things you do.

Thanks for the offer. I'm just waiting on the final 'whats required' from me on the day from the club and then I'll update the thread with anything pertinent. I think its more just having help from a few guys to usher traffic in the right direction and lay them out according to the clubs wishes etc. Plus checking the route to ensure there's no debris that might cause punctures etc.

Last year, due to that crappy rocky laden car park, I cracked a wheel bearing! If I'm in charge this year, that will be handled slightly differently.

Ok so just booked, not entirely confident it's correct but will check on email confirmation

2 days 2 people £80.00. She asked for the membership number which I said was the e85 code. In regards to driving on the track I didn't ask this, will this be included as standard via the bmw membership tickets?

Just rang them up again asking about the track driving they don't know as they only enter the codes manually.
So is the codes on the first page for static parking in the field only or includes a parade lap?

Any news on an E86 code yet?
Or are we safe to book on the E85 code without getting turned away on the day for wearing a hat? Door policies, eh!

Thanks!

Ill be there, looking forward to as I do every year. I see Bonnie Tyler is there OoL. Just booked my tickets for the Saturday. ;o)

I've just booked my tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Still not sure how to request the parade lap this year (having done it in 2012, and been in the rained-off queue in 2013).

Also a quick reminder to everybody that
MONDAY 31st MARCH IS THE LAST DAY TO BOOK AT A DISCOUNT.

I contacted Duncan Parker email: [email protected] who organises the event for the BMWCC. I told him I'd booked my place & wanted to make sure I was on the list for the parade lap this year as I have a different Z4 this time. He has a list of last year's entrants & will put you at the top of this year's list if you missed out last year. Very helpful bloke.
I've also seen on the BMWCC forum that they are hoping for a world record entry for the parade lap (all BMWs are allowed this year) so it looks like everybody should get on the parade lap.

I have just booked up my E86 for the Saturday using the E85 code, like I did last year, and didn't have any issues on the day.

Having had David Frith (The BMWCCGB chairman) over to us at our local meeting last month, we were informed that there is due to be a BMW world record attempt over the weekend, and therefore all BMW's on the day will be invited to do the parade lap. I believe it's an attempt to get as many BMW's on track as possible to have a go at beating the record. I missed out last year due to the rain so this really is good news!

Mike.
