Silverstone Classic - ZedFest - 25-27 July 2014

More specifically the ZedFest is slated for Saturday 26th July 2014 and first rumours are we have a parade lap again. Not yet sure if its mixed or just Z's so far.

I'm going to create this thread now to hold it ready for more information as we get it from BMW CCGB. I'll update it with pertinent information any attendees will need as I get it, along with a list of confirmed attendees from our forum and possibly others so we've got an idea of numbers for each forum or club to help us work out the travel and parking layouts at the show. In addition, I'll post any information about any hotel discounts the club has arranged as soon as I have it.

Please keep this thread as simple/succinct as possible, don't go off topic, so that it will be easy to read and use without everyone having to wade through non relevant posts.

Booking Codes for use at http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/Tickets

In order to qualify for infield parking/display parking you must book via the silverstone classic website using an official BMW CCGB code appropriate for your model. I realise some model numbers aren't covered but I'd suggest booking under the closest model code and we'll work any wrinkles out later.

Every model is being encouraged to attend. You do not need to be a member of the BMW club to attend this event or take advantage of the discount.

The code will enable you to get two tickets for the price of one and also enable you to get the car club display pass which allows you to display your car within the BMW display area, without the pass you will have to park in the public car park which is some distance away from the main display area.

These codes are only valid until May 31, and there will be a price increase after March 31 so book early if you can.

Anyone who attended last year will know that we were just about to go for our lap around the Silverstone circuit and the heavens opened, causing the lap to be cancelled. The Silverstone organisers have agreed to reinstate the Parade Lap this year and it will be held on the Saturday evening. People who attended last year will get preferential treatment on allocating places on the Parade lap. Another reason to book early to get your place on the parade lap booked.

After the March 31 price increase, the parade lap places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and the display passes will also be with drawn after May 31. Unlike previous years you will be unable to get any more Car Club Display passes for latecomers.

The club is also looking for volunteers to assist the organisers to coordinate some of the Registers, again you do not have to be a member of the club to do this. Specifically we need representatives for the 3,4,5,6,7,i and X Series. If you are prepared to do this please contact [email protected]

As I said before this is a show for all BMW models (new or old) so tell all your friends and family about this event the more the merrier.

With regard to hotel/stayovers I've received this from the club;

HOTEL

As last year the club has negotiated a deal with the Holiday Inn Express Northampton which includes the Breakfast Buffet. Evening meals are not included but the establishment facilitates takeaway orders being delivered from outside the hotel or there are eating establishments local to the hotel. There is a bar at the hotel and plenty of communal area.

The cost this year will be £70 per night per room prepaid until the end of March and then £79 from April till the 24th June at which point our reserved rooms are released for general sale.

CAMPING
Simon Alcorn as well as co-ordinating the Alpina group has also agreed to represent the Camping group this year. The club has spoken to the organisers and they will allocate an agreed area based on the numbers that book camping using club codes which will be roped off so that club campers can be co-located.

Please book your camping when you book the CCM Package; total cost for Camping the weekend £49 per person.

It's a bit more complicated this year and I'm not privy to all the detail yet but the main reason I'm getting involved is to try and get the forum in one place as BMW and BMW ccgb want the display by model, not club. That's not to say we couldn't for example show by model but still have a forum stand but I'll know more as we go as the club isn't fully organised yet, it being several months away.
 
Will be attending Sat & Sun this year. Been the last two years and 1 day is nowhere near enough if you want to try and see everything.
 
Already booked for Saturday using the E85 code. As regards the parade lap, I'm pretty sure it will be open to all BMW's, but priority will be given to those who missed out last year.

Snap... And yes provided you book early enough (before the price rise) then you should get the parade lap if you missed out last year, as a priority.
 
Get yourself down Pete, we'll raid the VIP bar for 20 bags of pens and enough coffee to make you launch to the moon ;)

I'm doing this the heading back to brum where I'm staying over for WAXSTOCK on the Sunday.
