Thank you smorris_12, I thought it might be a bit thin compared to grease from a tub.I've never seen that recommended and I've never done it (and never had a problem) but silicone spray would be fine!
Thank you Pondy, I hadn't thought of that, just being a bit of a cheap skate as I already have lots of it.The only thing to watch with spray silicone grease is to put plenty on. The initial 'spray' is mostly propellant which evaporates to almost nothing.
Because of the above, I find it messy to use. Spray copper grease is even worse!
I did it with some rattle can paint the other day. It was weird as the paint was then like water and was useless. Must be something else in the propellant that evaporated away.Reminds me of using some lacquer to touch something up the other day: Spray it into the lid or a yougurt tub to boil off the propellant rather than straight on.
