How do I do my signature picture please guys? I have my picture within the size limits and I am hosting the picture on my own dropbox with public access. However, no matter what I do I keep getting error messages saying it can't check the size of the picture and to check my URL. The URL is public and is 100% correct... I can check it in a browser and up it comes.

Does Z4 forum, support https fetch of the picture?

This is the picture:

looks a little too big for a sig - has to be 150 x 600 pixels max
I use this free website for resizing my pics: http://resizeimage.net/

Think it works now....
EDIT: No it doesn't... Doh, I give up.....

Your pic is over 150 pixels high - I have resized it:
Right click on picture and 'save picture as . . . ' then use that saved pic to upload to your hosting site and link to it as before

Thanks Marlon. Ok uploaded to to my own site because Dropbox does not appear to work.

... proves the picture is being served up.

Still doesn't work as a signature though - I just get the URL. Tried on Tinypic as well. No joy. I'll scratch my head for a bit and come back to it later... :)

As a test try copying this link into your sig, its your pic hosted on my site:
https://tinyurl.com/y8teumd3

.... worked......! WTF?
So tinyurl works perfectly since it works for other sites....
And the picture works fine from your site Marlon.
Doesn't make sense...

I’m using https and I never have been able to get an embedded url to work on this forum...

This is despite the same url works on many other B.B. that use the s@me s/w.

I’ve reported it several times, no joy..other sites show that depending how updates to the B.B. s/w are done this bug occurs...

I have just followed Marlons advice and used http://resizeimage.net/ to resize the image, although I need to alter mine slightly. And then I have used imgBB.com (free) as a third party site to host the image. Hope this is helps.

tried this exactly and got..It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. Please verify that the URL you entered is correct :headbang:

Hi Pbondar, I just copied and pasted Marlons original URL (2nd response on this topic) into google and it brought up the website. I then opened the imgBB account and then it took a fair bit of playing about with to get the image to be the correct size (or nearly)and plenty of :headbang:. I found that once I had uploaded the image to imgBB and copied the image address to the edit signature section it was then a process of elimination to find exactly what size the forum would accept. As you can see it worked for me. I’m not the best at IT and there is probably a better and easier way than the way I described but I hope this helped.

Hello thanks for this, what was the dimensions you got to work pls?

I have spent over a year now and never ever managed it..I guess being in the computer industry since 1974 doesn't help... :headbang:

The dimensions according to resizeimage.net are 231 x 127 px. I hope that this makes sense. As I said it was trial and error to get to this, not as easy as uploading photo's generally to the forum.

Well i reversed engineered your signature and used your pic and that worked, I reduced my pic to 138 pixels high and then now that works..the 150 pixel limit seems to be duff info, at least for me.. it was at 147 pixel high and would not work..weird..
