Both of us are as bad as each other when it comes to watches in this house. We've both collected watches all our lives and most weekends involve some kind of watch chat and buying.

Best bit is when I was 11 I got a Tag F1 which was bought from Goldsmiths by my parents for £400, today that'll buy you a G Shock, Sekio, Citizen etc and sometimes it won't even cover the price of a watch. How times have changed.

My daughter has a Tag F1 chucked in a jewellery box at home, are they worth anything these days?

Yes they are Ron, usually between £100-£200 depending on the colour, size and condition. Unfortunately tag parts can become costly these days so people don't want to spend loads especially if they aren't sure how long it will last.

My Tag stopped ages ago. My fault for not having it serviced. It would now cost almost as much as it is worth to get it going again. Keep thinking of a nice watch but nothing would ever be as accurate or easy to maintain as the one pictured above.

I like Seiko watches, the present one which I bought for about £100 a couple of years ago is this automatic 5.

I've had one of these as a daily for 10+ years, the fact that no batteries are required is a big bonus, only fault has been a bracelet catch failure. We also have a TAG and an Omega in the house but can't come to terms with the costs of batteries and maintenance.

I've got one of these Lux but mine has a cream face and tan strap.
T W Steel make fantastic watches and you can spend £££ if you want to. They're big statement pieces but I love mine. Great quality and well made.

My impulse buy whilst on holiday in lake garda, italy, about 6 years ago. Cost me around £380 back then and i loved it, not so sure now.....

Since a Milgauss is out of the question at the moment (http://www.rolex.com/watches/milgauss/m116400gv-0001.html), this ticked a few boxes, but also got me thinking...what other cheap-ish watches do people own and swear by? Japanese, Russian, Chinese...whatever you have and swear by the time keeping, quality and aesthetics of, then post onto this thread.

Two rules only. Nothing above £300 in value and there is no minimum (no cheating or showing off with that Bell & Ross given to you as a gift :lol: )

I'm a lucky guy Linky, my wife bought me a Milgauss last year. It's got a white face with orange details. Bloody fantastic watch and gets lots of nice comments.

If this works you should see a photo of a pair of Tag 1000's (His and Hers)
They get a new battery and reseal once in a while but lie in the toybox for most of the time! I bought them a few years ago but they have been replaced now but I don't want to chuck them out!

My current favourite:-



It's a Rosendahl Picto, I like it for it's minimalism. One hand for the minutes, the entire face revolves so that the dot marks the hour. I sometimes have trouble telling the time with it TBH!

My wife bought it me last year to match my Valencia Orange zed.

Lucky man dalecan! The one I want is the dark faced one with the gv mineral glass. Been obsessed with it for the last few years :lol:
