Your thoughts chaps,

Should I paint my grilles black, keeping the chrome surround?

Would appreciate opinions..

Mine are the same, personally I think they look better 8)

Plasti-dip them. You can always change back to silver if you don’t like the look!

I think if your going black, it's all black on the Kidney grills doing away with the chrome.
Even if your keeping the original kidneys I'd go black with those lower ones

On a red car I think what you are suggesting sounds alright, black slats and chrome surrounds but then you should also change the lower grills to the standard black ones. The all black grills looks good on certain colours, I am not sure if all black goes with the red.

Whatever you do with the kidneys your car would definitely look better with the lower grilles in black.

If you do want to change the kidneys as has been said on a red car I'd go for gloss black slats with the chrome surround. That's what I had on my Montego Blue E86 and I thought they looked smart. But my latest E86 is silver grey and came with matt black kidneys - slats and surround - that seem to work really well with that colour. But would have looked terrible on my Blue car!

Blacked out to match wheels.

I swapped mine out with a set I bought on eBay: https://imgur.com/a/hPpZwzd

The fitment wasn't the best, had to break out the Dremel, it's still not clicked in on all of the clip hooks, but good enough for now.

Now I'm debating these on the side mirrors: https://imgur.com/a/Ce23TYO

I know it's on orange, not red, but does this help you decide?

Also, are your lower grilles grey or just faded?
I spray mine with autoglym tyre dressing to keep them looking black.

Your car looks really good, you have the M bumper though and I think the small strip of colour between the lower grill and the outer small grills breaks it up.
For the moment I will stay with original I think.

Ahh, true enough.
Yes it does give a bit of separation between them, you're right.

Personal choice for me I like a bit of Bling .I recently bought some all chrome grills to replace the standard on the 3.0

Thanks for the tip about Autoglym tyre dressing. I did mine today and can’t believe the difference it has made. 👍

That's two other members who've tried that now. I thought I'd try just to see. As you say, it makes a big difference.
