Trump ! 1hour - MR2 Turbo Import :D I had time to fill it up and get 15 miles up the A361 out of Barnstaple when the turbo pipework imploded. Cash refund in hand inside the hour including limping it back :(

Going back a few years I had a mate who had one of these, not much got passed it in a straight line. Well, upto 125mph that is, then the limiter kicked in. :driving:

Going back a few years I had a mate who had one of these, not much got passed it in a straight line. Well, upto 125mph that is, then the limiter kicked in. :driving:

I had a lot of respect for the MR2 Turbo as it was the only car that ever took me off the line in my old 200sx(mildly tuned) and I always seemed to get many drag races in that car for some reason and once rolling I was stuck on his rear bumper but got talking to the owner after and he was really happy with that car and I could see why. :driving:
 
TT 225 coupe 9 years ago (I was 21). Didn't like the handling and it tried to kill me on a roundabout (had a slow puncture on rear left I didn't know about). Sold it for a £500 profit!

Think the MR2 had around 245/250bhp and could hit 60 in roughly 5.8 seconds. Back then, mid to late 90s was when Japanese performance cars really started to come to the fore... Evo's. Impreza's, Skylines, Supras, Celica's, 200/300sx etc...
 
Bought a brand new MK3 MR2 in 2000 X Reg, picked up on the Friday returned on the Monday with engine failure after 270 miles :o Toyota wanted to rebuild the engine but I rejected it and managed to get my traded in Audi A3 1.8T back, phew.

Other car was a Suzuki Vitara 1.6 which I had 6 weeks, dreadful thing and couldn't stand the shame any longer :oops:

Yes the guy said his was running 260bhp with a few mods and my 200sx was around 250bhp also modded and the way the MR2 launched off the line was very impressive, I also enjoyed my 200sx very much with its relative light weight and running that bit more boost made it quite a sleeper back then. :driving:

I timed my 200sx at 5 secs dead to 60 (roughly) and it was quicker off the mark than my mates stage 1 tuned sapphire cossie as well.
 
I worked at Nissan as a tech in 1997-1999 and the S14 200SX was my favourite car.

I really wanted the dark burgundy with black leather GT spec..... I was running a ST165 Celica GT4 at the time,but found it a bit too clinical and sanitised compared to the 200SX..

I never did own one in the end,although i had a Silvia before and a 300ZX TT after... Around that time i also had a Primera eGT,which was a wonderful thing and got the better of many hot hatches. I bought it as a PX off the dealers and fitted OZ superturismo wheels to it..

Kept it around 8 months and made a fair chunk of profit when i sold it.

Where have Nissan gone wrong :(

I always fancied a 300ZX and I went for a passenger ride in one and I loved it and even measured my garage to see if it would fit in but never got one in the end, the Primera always got excellent reviews and I always liked them, my 200SX has easily been the favourite car that I have owned and they are nothing to look at but boy are they great fun to drive and it was just smiles all the time in it, mine was a S14a touring in red with cream leather and when it was standard it was fairly steady but once I had tuned it it just turned into a totally different car. :driving:

Other than the GTR you do wonder what has happened to Nissan.
 
That would be my first Primera. Bough at 11am Saturday morning. Drove it home to show MrsG. Then took it for a very short run on the M27, Just made it to the end of the on slip before the oil light came on and the engine blew. :cry: I had my cheque back in my hand by 3pm. :thumbsup:

Then bought another the next day, from a different dealer, which I kept for 7 years. :D (Great handling car that was) :driving:
 
Mine was a 1987 320i, lovely car but had a tendency to swop ends at the slightest hint of moisture on the road. Had it three weeks, got caught out on the way home late one evening and rolled it on a country road :cry:
 
I brought a mark 2 golf for my mum for her birthday. It didn't have power steering so she handed it back to me. I had the car for months trying to shift it. But it was only mine for a 20 minute drive to Mr monkey towers!!

A friend of mine managed to bend his 320i of a similar vintage and it does make you wonder how well set up they were in the first place.

In a way I wish I'd lived with it longer but was in emergency mode to get the most I could for it in order to get another Zed. Lovely car to drive and so very fast.
