She’s home, but i nearly wasn’t!

Read some of the original reviews as the "journalists" complained about the ride. There's one from that w***er Clarkson about how bad it was.

The ride is one thing (yes it is a bit harsh) but that is usually the sacrifice one has to make to get good handling (active suspension excluded). In my mind there is a key distinction to be made between ride and handling.

Anyway, we all seem to be in agreement here:
1) Ditch the runflats
2) Get the bushes done
3) Get the alignment done.

I was a little freaked out by the amount of tramlining when I got my roadster. Certainly not “wrestling a wild animal”, but surprising for sure.

Runflats were the main contributor but I also now know that my lollipop bushes weren’t in great shape back then either.

How about “wrestling a slightly docile animal that’s feeling a bit tired”? :P

Yeah, man-handling a moderately tranquillised badger.

Well after an entertaining 180 mile round trip to a lovely place called Hawes with the better half, starting with a trip to the tyre guy who checked a few bits and put the recommended pressures in ( i had 32psi all round) he made a phone call and put 33 in the front and 37 in the rear.
Actually made quite a difference and as i have spent mire time behind the wheel i’m reading the road better and seeing where the bits are.
Some lovely twisty roads and sat behind some tractors later and i debated leaving the better half there so i could really enjoy it on the way home.

We have formed a plan of attack -
1) bush over-haul
2) new std tyres
3) full alignment
4) all the niggly none driving related bits ive noticed!

Another thanks to all for the advice

What is the mileage on your zed? What suspension components have been changed during its life? Has it had an alignment done and if so what were the settings?
