She's gone. I'm Zedless.

So after my "how much is my Z worth?" thread took on a life of its own with the interest it generated, I've just gone along with things as they picked up momentum.

Been thinking about selling for a while (nearly three years is a long time for a fun car for me) but I've liked it so much that haven't been fussed. However, despite "Ballzdeep"s trashing of the thread I had so much interested that I obliged any enquirers. The first guy, Ben seemed straight up so was happy to give him first view and he came down today all the way from Cumbria and drove it away. The potential for hassle when selling a car is huge so when it seemed Ben was a good egg it thought I'd go along with it.

First to see will buy!!!! I hope it's a good car for him, as good as it has been for me. He seems quite handy with a spanner and realistic about 10 year old cars so he should be ok. It certainly didn't look 10 years old as he drove off....gulp.

I've had second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth thoughts but it's done now. The next question is what to replace it with, it's a tough act to follow as an all rounder.

You'll be back I'm sure - I'd love to know how many members on here have owned more than one Zed as I suspect it's quite a few.

And just read your what's it worth thread - I'm sure you were spitting fire at the time, but in retrospect, amusing!

Looks nice Wilks, need to save up some money first.

Spoon, yes I was gobsmacked at the time but as somebody pointed out it probably worked in my favour in the end.

Well he hasnt posted since the 23rd which was the one and only day he posted and doesnt look like he has been back since the 24th. Think he might have got the message

Hopefully he's gutted he missed out on my well specced, well kept example. Especially since thanks to the new DVLA online facility, getting a private plate off takes 2-5 days now and that's what seemed to set him off.

Missed the comments from BD, won't add to the views aside from rhyming with tool....no bugger, I meant rhyming with rule!

I've sold 2 Zs and am in my third, you will be back at some point - there's just something about them that is so much fun for the price :driving:

I feel guilty after reading this post Ben! By no means am I rubbing it in by what I'm about to post, but she's home safe after a long trip back up (and in good hands!). I said I was going to use it only at weekends, but couldn't resist taking it up to work in Glasgow just for this week... As a result I've now clocked up about 650 miles since yesterday afternoon.

And after looking out the window at work I couldn't resist going for a little blast up to Loch Lomond on the A82/3 this evening, some pictures below for completeness.

Safe to say I'm enjoying the honeymoon period with the new Zed. I'll update my newbies thread with some more stuff/photos at some point.

Waiting patiently in works car park

You've parked in the wrong part of the car park.

Z4's usually sit with at least one empty space next to them. No other cars are allowed to park next to them.

It's ok that you've done this though as you're new.

Good to see another E85 in Scotland!

In my defence, it was empty this morning when I left it... Getting used to parking miles away again after running an old Volvo commuting shed for a while.

Excellent work Ben.

It's like looking at pictures of an ex-girlfriend with her new man though :o

You have got a new Zed and you work within easy reach of Loch Lomond. Don't tell me - you're married to Scarlett Johannson as well! Lucky you.

Enjoy :driving:

Well this is confusing - two Bens same car
To 'Selling Ben': glad it worked out in the end after a bizarre for sale post
