Selling my Z. Convince me to get another one!

The sdrive30i is too damn slow. Not really an engaging drive for me anymore, so I am currently cross shopping between an Sdrive35i/s and a Corvette grand sport. I am expecting biased opinions here! :D (The Corvette guys did a damn good job convincing me the Vette was the bette choice. Now it's your turn! )

Here are some pros for the Sdrive35i and Sdrive35is.
1. It's a goddamn BMW. That's gotta count for something.
2. Turbos. Two of them. I can eventually swap them out for bigger ones.
3. It's got the N54. Bitches love the N54.
4. Hardtop convertible. (But the Vette has a removable roof, so this is kind of voided.)
5. Much more luxurious.
6. Damn, it's pretty.
7. 7 speed dual clutch transmission.
8. $895 (USD) tune puts you at 390/406.

But the good things about the Vette:
1. Cheap to maintain.
2. LS3 engine is bulletproof.
3. If I ever want to go forced induction, the power would probably kill me. (Yes, this is a good thing LOL)
4. 0-60 without touching it is 4 seconds flat.
5. Lightweight.
6. Plenty of aftermarket parts, as opposed to the less common Z4.
7. Dat exhaust. Dat V8 sound.

I have to say, I expected a much different outcome with this vote  If the buyer for my Z comes through tomorrow, then Vette it is!

That's because in the US you can afford to fuel one and if we could do the same in Europe we'd also have one.

Good point!

I guess the Corvette is cheap to buy, expensive to run, and I wouldn't be keen on anything that still uses cart springs, really your just buying the engine and everything else is Poundland.

If you like that sort of thing go for it

Tim.

I'd second that Tim from all the reviews. If it's cheap power you want, Vette it is. All the reviews say bud quality is naff. From my experience modern BMWs don't have the best build quality but it's way ahead of most American brands.

I'm sure the power is great but thats about it. Yank cars generally are pretty rubbish in terms of quality etc but cars like the Corvette are done cheaply for your average man in the street to be able to afford. A few years back a neighbour traded his Hyundai Coupe V6 for a Cadillac, when I sat in it I never laughed so much, in a word it was just awful  He only kept it 6 months.

Doe Vettes go round corners now?

The evidence suggests the C6 and C7 do just that and come with the option of a proper gearbox ;)

Some people even think the Z4 is German built ;) lol
