Selfish Gits

Throughout the Covid thing this last three years we've kept our heads down but last week my wife went to the Dentists who still work under precautions, however she said the waiting room had a bloke who kept coughing and coughing.

The dentist practice specifically asks if you have any indications of covid to stay away but this selfish git knew better.

Now she has tested +ve

I suppose its only time before I get it

I wonder how as a patient, you can sit in a dentist chair whilst coughing and trying to keep your mouth open.

Wonder what the dentist had to say about that one ...

I hope your wife is ok though and it won't be too bad for her.

Now this is me being selfish I suppose but I’m concerned how I will deal with covid which I suppose I will now inevitably catch, given my fairly recent pneumonia/hospitalisation?

You can avoid it if you are careful, there are so many people where 1 person gets it but not the other even though they live in one household.

Hopefully that will work for you

Exactly, My wife caught it when we were having a week away in Cambridge. despite being with her 24/7 and a long drive home, I never caught it.
Fingers crossed for you Ron

Hope you manage to steer clear of it Ron. Someone I know has just come back from a cruise and him and his wife have succumbed, hardly surprising really along with every other disease know to man knowing cruise ships, no thanks.

Covid is just a distant memory now, plus this country is hardly a prime example of cleanliness.

Tim.

My wife caught it and as soon as she tested positive it was separate rooms day and night for 7 days and I didn’t catch it so it’s not inevitable
🤞

I think that’s the trouble- it’s just a distant memory- not on the News every five minutes. Hopefully it’s just feeling dog rough for a few days.

Im keeping my distance as much as possible and being extra vigilant. Indeed, she is sitting with a mask 😷 on!

Hopefully they sent him packing!

Did you have proof she actually had it or was it an excuse …

ronk, not another Covid thread :o although the first one you started could never be described as dull. I agree that a lot of people are selfish in this respect. I am surprised that the reception staff did not take him aside and offer him a mask at the very least. I wish you and your wife well. :)

I sincerely hope it doesn’t go downhill - if there are any attempts to hijack or vitriol I hope the mods will close without warning!

We will contact the Surgery tomorrow and let them know what has happened - the waiting room is the only place where the infection could have occurred.

Could also be the dentist chair though, anybody touches that and I doubt that it is wiped between visits (anymore)

Give our dentists their credit- as soon as I got off the chair- her assistant was spraying and wiping down everything!

Our dentist wore a medical mask and a visor - so all precautions were taken at that end- only the one other person when my wife was in the waiting room- wearing a mask but constantly coughing- I think I would have said something!

Hopefully you can stay clear and spoil Mrs Ronk as she recovers. :)
Surely it's Ronk that needs spoiling?

PS. Hope he's wearing a mask when he is typing his post on here

Sorry to hear that Ron. :(

Wishing your wife all the best, and hoping you can avoid it.
