Seeing the International Space Station

Fair enough. Can you look at it with binoculars to get get more detail?

I felt a bit of a twat (nothing new there!) last night stood in the middle of our street staring up at the sky....I'm sure the curtain twitchers would go mental if I stood in the street with binoculars at 10.30pm!

Did you notice every now and then it would seem to dim a little bit? Is that just the reflections changing?

This is all I get at the moment! Any idea when it's back?

I have seen it filmed through a telescope and you can make out all the detail clearly in the latter hours of daylight. But at night it's just the massive glow of light flair off the huge solar panels.

Currently it's coming right over Great Britain in daylight so u can't make it out through the glow of the atmosphere. It'll be viewable again soon in the evenings tho, say 3-4 weeks for a good week to 10days.

So that's what this bright spot was, last monday...
I knew it !

Possibly not if it was LAST Monday, its not been visible for a while (comes over in day light or blocked by the earths shadow at night).
You can only see it in periods where it passes over the earth (at night) but whilst its illuminated by the sun, out of the earths own shadow.
One of those periods is now over the up and coming week - 10 days, normally in the few hours after sunset and few hours before dawn, but as its summer and the nights are short those times merge into one.

10:12 to 10:18pm tonight!!
Grab a coat
Lets go

Managed to see it - accidentally as I was watching for meteors... Didn't see any of them :(

Whilst trying to snap the Perseids tonight, guess what should go over :)

This is a composite of two images, the gap is the 2s delay on the shutter to minimise movement...
