Sure I have a second car, my first car is a 2002 passat which I bought new, love it love it, compares to audis and the like as it is one under the flesh but costs way less. Then last summer I bought a 2005 z4 as you can see my mum sitting on in the picture below. I use my passat in the winter (living in quebec) or when I need more room for stuff, earth for garden, tools....etc.....and the z4 most of the time from april through nov. I was very lucky with this car as it has never been winter driven, not a speck of rust and under the oil cap it was squeaky clean, well taken care of. I decided not to buy brand new cars anymore, too expensive and the value shoots down right away, buy a car 1 or 2 years old, not old enough to be neglected, talking about all the fluids to be replaced and what not, after 5 years who knows what your buying, but 2 years from new, your good to go and change the antifreeze, differential etc.....I plan to keep this car for about 20 years, yes it is long, but it is my summer cruiser, hey I'm too poor to not take excellent care of my cars, that's the way I see it. If your loaded and lease a new car every 2 years that is fine go for it. I buy great cars and just keep them humming for 200k or so. Not a problem if you change all and I mean all the fluids and filters regularly, that is the secret. Look at jay leno, rich first of all and has like 30 cars to look after in his 17000sqf garage.
My car is stored very nicely in the garage for 4 months, oil change, wax, full cleaning and jacked up and covered.
Happy motoring.
