Second Car ?

New 2007 Saturn Ion - pick it up this Saturday - 5 speed, no air, hope it has tires and a steering wheel? I did the whole deal over the phone - I've never even seen one in person

I had a 2006 Saturn Ion before the truck as a winter-beater. Great car... gets from point A to point B with no hassles.

Best bet is to calculate space occupied based on an average hooter radius for all the girls.
Flyboyaj, you mind making the measurements for us? :)

LOL, I don't have the car anymore, but I can measure the girls for you if those are the measurements you need 8)

LOL... +1 on that.
Been divining the F150 since our return. (yes F-N-I...another FORD)

Took the M for a spin last night for the first time in almost 3 wks.
Amazing how much faster it seems. :D

My 2nd car is a little red 2007 Citroen C2 By Loeb. I'll bet at this point all you yanks are wondering what the hell one of those is.

Its what is classed as a hot hatch/worm hatch over here, ie it’s a small hatchback with a firm set-up and a bit of peep in the engine department.

The reality is that it’s a little noisy thing that shakes and rattles you down the road whilst making lots of noise about it. I must add whilst not making all that much speed, but then it only has 125BHP so it’s to be expected :driving:

well.. after weeks of playing with the concept, i have bought a second car.

1999 Peugeot 406 GLX HDI, Black - 124k miles but excellent condition, hardly even a scratch - £1500.

Low CO2, so £115 pa tax, 650 miles on a tank of diesel and the best bit? I'm actually speeding up for speed bumps, I curbed it yesterday - then SMILED ! The relief is beautiful. I reversed into my space at work, and as usual didnt look behind me, expecting PDC beeps. Instead, i nudged the wall, and again smiled.

However, having driven it since Sunday, I had to go and hug the Monster which is hidden in the garage. I think it's upset with me tho =( Hopefully taking it to Bedford in 3wks with Mr Sixspeed will sort it out tho =)

Awesome!! I'll need a pic as I have no idea what a Peugeot looks like

:worthless:

Gawd, I love doing that...

haha.. as i clicked on this thread thats what i guessed was coming.. will sort in the morning.

in the meantime.. this might still work:

Neat. That's a good lookin' car. I'm still laughing at the fact that you can scratch and dent it up and not give a hoot :hooters:

Sure I have a second car, my first car is a 2002 passat which I bought new, love it love it, compares to audis and the like as it is one under the flesh but costs way less. Then last summer I bought a 2005 z4 as you can see my mum sitting on in the picture below. I use my passat in the winter (living in quebec) or when I need more room for stuff, earth for garden, tools....etc.....and the z4 most of the time from april through nov. I was very lucky with this car as it has never been winter driven, not a speck of rust and under the oil cap it was squeaky clean, well taken care of. I decided not to buy brand new cars anymore, too expensive and the value shoots down right away, buy a car 1 or 2 years old, not old enough to be neglected, talking about all the fluids to be replaced and what not, after 5 years who knows what your buying, but 2 years from new, your good to go and change the antifreeze, differential etc.....I plan to keep this car for about 20 years, yes it is long, but it is my summer cruiser, hey I'm too poor to not take excellent care of my cars, that's the way I see it. If your loaded and lease a new car every 2 years that is fine go for it. I buy great cars and just keep them humming for 200k or so. Not a problem if you change all and I mean all the fluids and filters regularly, that is the secret. Look at jay leno, rich first of all and has like 30 cars to look after in his 17000sqf garage.
My car is stored very nicely in the garage for 4 months, oil change, wax, full cleaning and jacked up and covered.

Happy motoring.

Well it seems I'm the only one that doesn't have a 2nd car! I drive the Z4 to work and other mundane places but take extreme care to park in the furthest most inaccessible car parks.

Despite all my care though I have sustained some serious rock damages and 2 dents on my driver's door from idiots parking next to me.

After owning it for 2 years now and seeing that despite my great care and meticulous attention to paintwork it still manages to collect a lot of significant damage (especially during my highway drive to work everyday) I have come to the conclusion a 2nd car IS A MUST!

So for my next expensive car I will definitely be pairing it with a 'dog' so that I don't have to stress about where I park it everyday.

I don't have a second car, whats the point in buying a fun car and then driving a dull one while the fun one sits on the drive depreciating

I am a bit overprotective of where I park it though

My second car is way more expensive then my M, so I am not sure I achieved what I was looking for.

Still strange that when I go somewhere where I don't know what the parking is like, I take the £51k car instead of the £42 :D Must be some brain disconnect somewhere ....

The second car question is a PITA. I wish I did not need a second car but the ground clearence on an ///M is pretty bad and will not deal with sun-divisions after a fresh snow. However, this problem only occurs 10-14 days per year....

I would really like to have just a 2-seater sports car and no other. Maybe I should move to Vancouver or Victoria, BC. I refuse to leave Canada because of snow :?

Move to Victoria when you retire. But come to Vancouver and you won't be disappointed! You can shave off your FX too... your M can be your only ride.

Move to Vancouver and... the Zeattle Crew will all buy you a lapdance.
